Is Your Tinnitus Louder Than the Noise of Swallowing?

Hello, fellow sufferers, I suffer from tinnitus, which I perceive as very loud and annoying and can be heard over all ambient noise. On the other hand, I realized that the noise from the throat, which is generated at the moment of swallowing, is louder than my tinnitus. At the same time, I...

Reactive Tinnitus and Flying on an Airplane

The more in front you are, the softer is the noise. That said, Business Class, as located in the front, is an advantage.

No, because it is no long-time solution. How much Doxylamine do you take and it helps sleeping? For me, even if I sleep, the piercing noise is waking me up. And then, I cannot fall asleep again. So I sleep 1 hour per night.

Yes, I am afraid there are none. Mirtazapine or Amitriptyline or Doxylamine would be the options. But that is nothing to take long-term. And the plants (Valerian, Hop) do not work either... it is terrible

Now, it is so incredibly loud, that I cannot mask, I hear it 24/7. I cannot develop a neutral feeling to it. So I only have the VAD as an (bad) option. I am so tortured by it. It is terrible. No sleep, no relaxation in the day. I am completely broken

I got it in 2011, it made me mad. But compared to today, it was really mild. I really experienced habituation. I did not hear it anymore after 2,5 years. The trick was 100% masking for sleep (not this mixing point TRT theory). And 100% masking in the office.

Thanks a lot Anthony for giving some hope. Regarding potassium channel openers, what do you have in mind? I searched on the forum and I did not find anything that could be available in, let's say, 2 years maximum.

Are NIOSH And OSHA Guidelines Still Valid When You Have Tinnitus or Some Degree of Hearing Loss?

I am wondering the same. My problem is that when I am wearing custom made earplugs, I am always hearing my high frequency screeching tinnitus, even if the environment noise is at 90 dB (like plane, underground, bus, streets). Hearing my tinnitus makes me completely frustrated. And I am...
