A lot of people take Clonazepam for years with no issues. If you come off gradually, then there really isn’t an issue. It’s when you stop cold turkey that it’s a problem and even then, if you’re only taking like 1 mg, nothing will happen.

You could try asking for a very limited Rx - like 4x 0.5 mg doses per month.

Deanxit (with Flupentixol) does not lower your tinnitus per say, it will make you care less (imho).

Yep, Clonazepam basically and I take some others. They help sometimes but sometimes not. After the last setback it does not seem to help at all. It's frustrating that there is no way to alleviate the pain.

Time to try a new psych, you'll find one. One of the proposals I have in my back pocket is to say, just give me 5mg per month. No risk to their license and no risk for abuse.

@Jonno02, I'm not jumping down anyone's throat. I'm as anxious as most. Dr. Shore's device won't work for everyone, just like Clonazepam or Gabapentin or hearing aids don't. It will be a viable treatment for a reasonable chunk of people though. How can we guarantee it? Of course we cannot do so.

Clonazepam made my tinnitus way worse. it has improved slightly after being off the drug for twelve months but I am nowhere near healed. Please stay away from this drug, it is only recommended for short term use.

Has anyone who has visual snow syndrome induced tinnitus tried Gabapentin here? I would consider Gabapentin together with a higher dose of Clonazepam but I'm not quite sure, at least yet.

I take Gabapentin 2-3 times per day. I take Deanxit with Clonazepam as per Dr. De Ridder. It's to 'break up the tinnitus network' as single medications only do so much. There are a bunch of different neurotransmitters. Most important part of Deanxit is Flupentixol.
