Your spike most probably is psychological only, since your brain filters out sound as a serious threat, and this sound stood out, your brain got scared, triggered fight/flight. Therefor the effect is kind the opposite of habituation. I.e. your brain will notice your tinnitus more... for some...

Has anyone here had a spike AFTER you STOP taking Elvanse (Lisdexamfetamine), which is an ADHD medication? I was on it daily for about 6 weeks, 20-30 mg.

Yeah... Maybe use 9F-plugs when worried? Cuts off 6 dB, not much but... And then use -30 dB plugs when the risk is really high.

I still produce and play live. EDM, so I have good control of levels (as opposed to a band or a drummer). I use Etymotic 25 (NRR 23) and a pair of 100% filled custom made silicone plugs, i.e. 0% hollow.

These are not my actual ones, but the material/construction is identical. They cancel out A LOT of sound, so mutch so it´s really hard to have a conversation inside a club. I have no way to measure this accurately, but I´d say it´s at least about -35 dB in the high end.

55 dB is VERY low. Like a washing machine or a dishwasher. Are you sure it´s not general tiredness, caffeine or stress causing the change?

Sorry to hear that. But personally, I´m having a hard time believeing that regular office noise can actually make noise induced T go even worse, since an office should not be louder than about 85dB or so... My guess would be that stress and anxiety changes the perception of T, but should not...

Sorry for the long post above. What I´m wondering is, how do You actually interpret the the -dBs or NRR numbers when planinng your protection with ear plugs?

So, how is it going today, still the same "new" level? I´m having this question ATM. I want to be able to still have a social life; clubs, cinema, koncerts... But I´m not sure if -25dB custom made earplugs will be enough protection?

Accumulating more damage over long time? I mean -25 dB is a lot. And bone conduction seems to not be a big issue, acording to the little reading I´ve done... -25 dB custom made plugs has kept me safe for 14 years (no changes in T). Just this last time, they seem to have got to fit quite bad...
