...meningitis I first blamed the lumbar puncture but now believe it’s from the meningitis I was diagnosed on 12/8/2017 and tinnitus started 12/15 and has been 24/7 high pitched tone since I have been considering acupuncture and see it may have helped you and just wanted to know if you’re still T...
Thanks for sharing your perspective on all this. I will hold off on any acupuncture for sure.
Funny enough I actually have to get some crowns redone and a cavity fixed. I've asked they use no supersonic instruments but after your comment and another on dental work I saw today, I am really...
I have no idea what that even is! But thank you for the suggestion. Now I'm off to do some research. And of course the only question that matters to me is, if that or anything similar has happened, how in the world would I fix it?
I do think this guy was experienced and also went to real...
...from some moderate arthritis in my neck. Neurology thought it was concussion causing my light sensitivity and also my hyperacusis, but this is not the case.
I see an osteopath weekly who also does acupuncture as well. Nerve blocks help my severe occipital pain but this hearing is something else
TracyJS, no, you will not get the tinnitus worse because of this, the only problem is that person does not know how to do acupuncture. As has been said, you do not feel pain when it is well done. That's exactly what Wolfears said.
She said she had it for 5-6months. She tried acupuncture for 5sittings. Every week 1appointment of acupuncture so 5weeks of acupuncture cured her T. She did not know the cause either.
I am going for an MRI :( did they not give any ear plugs ? I am planning to take my own ear plugs and ear mask...
I did try acupuncture. I tried everything. I know a person who got rid of T emerged after acoustic trauma in military training through acupuncture. The person is serious he's not lying. Acupuncture makes sense, in a way, T is an energetic imbalance that theoretically could be corrected by...
Thank you for sharing. If there is a link between the neck and T, it is very disturbing. (I heard numerous stories about T getting worse as a result of manipulating the neck, and never any stories about T getting better...)
From now on, when it comes to my neck, I will try to be extra careful...
@Nics2drescue I've just been reading all of your posts, I wish I had seen them earlier before I went for acupuncture last Saturday. Looks like the damage has already been done, I am going through exactly what you went through. A new constant high pitched tone that I have never had before, more...
Thanks , I too had them around the neck and on the temple by the ear ..Also some on my hands . National Health Service Physio who also knows Acupuncture but not really in relation to ear issues unfortunately.
Thanks Eltel
...Sinuses and ears seem to be very connected. I hope you've found ways to lower your stress--I've heard great things about acupuncture for stress relief and also tinnitus. Guided meditation and calm music also help a great deal.
Wishing you a good new year and good health my friend.
Steph
I've had some tinnitus but mostly TMJ symptoms from clenching my jaw at night - serious neck tension and head pain. Have tried many things: chiro, massage, acupuncture, supplements, and a mouth guard. Saw that Cerezen was discontinued in the U.S.
...my tinnitus to medium (was improving some though). I was in the midst of hoping that would improve. And I didn't even go to this guy for acupuncture! I also thought I caught COVID-19, and was having headaches I didn't have before. So a friend suggested Chinese medicine might help. That's what...
What about the LLLT offered in "normal" ENT clinics? With ENT's working there?
It's always offered as alternative treatment, so they might have some success, even if it's placebo...maybe it's the same,as somebody says, go take acupuncture.
I also tried acupuncture from a Chinese traditional medicine guy where he hooked up the zapper, as I call it lol, but only did 2 sessions. Maybe I should do more and keep trying. Think I might make an apt tomorrow.
has anyone tried acupuncture for tinnitus? if so, did it help, or is it a waste of money. I have had T for 25 years but just recently got much worse. tried doctors, masking devices, herbs, hearing aids, nothing has helped.
@John Meyers Ehm, not sure if you'd like to learn a little more about acupuncture, but this is definitely interesting :) If anything, you might even help a different part of your body
Ricardo
By now I have quack test , I ask them about Tinnitus , if they pause, look at their "chinese" acupuncture chart that they all seem to have and say " the liver" is connected to the ears , I know they are clueless.
@antonio77: The fact that the acupuncturist elicited or aggravated your symptoms suggests that he hit a trigger point responsible for your symptoms at least in part. I think this is very encouraging and you should try acupuncture again or Trigger Point therapy (manual therapy).
Acupuncture to T is a joke. They keep treating for gastrointestinal problems. May be 1000 years ago, T could have been for such issues, but today it is nothing but a joke. Sadly this doesn't come with a money-back guarantee.
Hi Carlyi, I was wondering how your T was doing. I've had T on and off for the last 2+ years and I believe it's related to my neck and jaw. I'm trying acupuncture for the first time Friday. Trying to stay optimistic.
LadyDi,
Could you elaborate on the supplements and medications and how they helped? I have tried acupuncture for othr things, did it help you?
How did the Neuronomics work for you? Thank you.
Willowman
I've tried acupuncture, too. For me, the tinnitus stayed the same (no change), but it was soothing and calming. It might be worthwhile just for that alone. Since he has Meniere's, it might help with his balance, etc.
Best wishes,
Karen
Thank you, I hope that helps for you. I've tried so much. I even convinced my ENT to prescribe me Potiga (trobalt) a few months ago, but I couldn't get it filled since insurance refused to cover it and it was really expensive. But I was ready to try anything.
For therapy I have taken ginkgo biloba daily, 120 mg, avoid salt and caffeine as much as possible, work out doing cardio almost daily. As stated above, I have had 3 sessions of acupuncture but Im not confident about the results.
Thx man. I tried a low histamine diet. It was very very strict, but it didn't do a whole lot. I did carnivore diet for a few weeks, and it did nothing. Acupuncture has been the only thing so far that has helped. The delayed pain is the worst!
Starting to work for me. I’ve been doing acupoints & acupuncture with electrical stimulation since June. After today’s treatment I had near silence. Probably won’t last but it shows we can get there. I’ve gone for treatment twice a week for at least 2 hours a day.
I pray this treatment works...
I have seen 3 acupuncturists. None have helped. It actually made it spike more with the 1st. Same with Cranial Sacral Therapy, tried 2 therapists. These were covered under my plan. I did stay with the 3rd who I call the "Chi Master". I get a 2 hour acupuncture & cupping. I do find it relaxing.
...a very simple way of relieving some of the ensuing anxiety and unhappiness. I can promise you that it helps.
You will know about acupuncture I am sure - well there is a diy adaptation - acupressure - which is simply applying finger pressure to known acupuncture points - very easy to do -...
I'm thinking this is more like acupressure incorporating point SI 19 into the treatment.
Wouldn't surprise me if the inventor had undergone a course of something similar in the past prompting him to try and fix up a device on the 3D printer.
...there's definitely some stress involved in all of this (but it's not the reason for it). I am mapping a plan of action:
1. Try acupuncture tomorrow.
2. Neck stretches to loosen and strengthen the SCM. Rotate each side for ten seconds, and tilt each side for ten seconds.
3. Warm compress on...
...inflamed. Not sure if he's actually correct about that, as all he did was rub my head for and spine for 30 minutes, but he recommended acupuncture. I'm personally enthusiastic about it, and so are my parents, but I'm asking here to see if anyone has anything to say about it?
Obviously I'm...
...that tinnitus is such an extremely complex condition that scientists are still learning lots about it on the reg. Your tinnitus took the acupuncture well - somehow your nervous responded extremely well to it. I have my own pet theories why acupuncture seems to work so great for some people...
Thanks for the tip about violet noise. I live in China and went to see an acupuncturist. They admitted the changes would be slight and take time. In all, they seemed to indicate acupuncture is of small but limited use.
But if it helps, go for it.
@ZZZK thank you for your reply.
What do you mean by fasting most of the day?
I'm getting an MRI done Friday to rule out any other causes. Mine has still been relentless. Have any of you tried acupuncture or a chiropractor?
Thanks again,
Aimee
I can be a very negative person after years of ill health but this forum
can take the biscuit. The point is his tinnitus resolved after a decade. Bloody hell!!
...posts.
Yes I agree there is something to Chiro for sure. I go to my Chiro about every six weeks and I have started to incorporate acupuncture as well. I do acupuncture once a week. My acupuncturist is helping me with the TMJ/TMD, my ears, anxiety, and monthly female issues. I have been...
I think a major reason acupuncture helps is because of its ability to harmonize energy flows in the head and body. Most people, and certainly conventional medicine, rarely think in term of the way energy is flowing (or not flowing) in our body. But I think it's a major factor in tinnitus...
...I myself have made a contact with a pain management doctor who works with my mother (anesthesiologist at a hospital) and she does medical acupuncture and nerve blocks for pain.
She told me that she has no previous experience with tinnitus, but she will study the Korean technique and she will...
...dying. I’m just not quite over the fence yet. Who knows what would happen tbh. If I got any worse, not sure what I would do. I’m going to keep doing acupuncture for half a year and see where it gets me. I might be on to something. I’m just trying to make it will the regen meds. Probably 3-5...
@Lane I had been to acupuncture right after my tinnitus onset. However I didn't have hyperaucis at that time, maybe very mild hyperacusis but nothing serious. I didn't have any improvement on my tinnitus. But maybe it can help hyperacusis. For how long have you been pain free?
Hi, has anyone tried acupuncture for tinnitus? I've been watching Julian Cowan Hill on YouTube & he suggests any body based treatments can be helpful. How many sessions did you have? I have been offered 4 sessions at a comparatively good price as I don't have much money but am wondering if...
...go to help with pain I have and maybe to help hyperacusis & tinnitus, but it just caused too much pain to keep going.
I'm thinking about giving acupuncture a go, what's everyone's take? Did it help anybody?
What about other therapies? Craniosacral osteopath, or just a regular osteopath...
