I would call your ENT and tell them what you discovered with taking the ear drops. Maybe you still have a slight infection and inflammation.

Just an update for everyone. I used the neomycin ear drops in BOTH ears every 6 hours for 7 days. I did not experience any increase in my already fairly loud tinnitus :)

@Artypawz Yeah neomycin - stay the fuck away from it. Go to another ent for checking up on you - there might not be even infection anymore.

I used Fucidin for dermatitis (on my hand) pre-tinnitus and never had a problem with it. Just skimmed through the patient leaflet, and it's not supposed to cause or worsen tinnitus. In my opinion, it's pretty safe. If possible, avoid neomycin and other aminoglycosides.

Aminoglycosides (like Neomycin) are not toxic to the strial Na/K channels. I doubt this would help you but it could slow down the progression of age-related hearing loss. You could achieve the same later effect with a lower salt, higher potassium diet, though (which Aldosterone affects)...
