Noise induced tends to improve if it isn't from long-term exposure from what I believe. I'm not sure about self-syringing though, or syringing. Every case I've read on that doesn't tend to like completely fade when it is 'mechanical-induced.'

I am shocked they would preform such barbaric practices. Ear Syringing (Caloric Test) and Microsuction with of course Acoustic Reflex, ECOG, CVEMP, etc can and will cause hearing damage.

From personal experience I don't recommend syringing at all. The best way to remove wax is with a curette, I don't know why doctors waste our times with microsuction and with syringing when these methods are really invasive.

Hi @ChazSpiers, I didn't fully get at which point did your noise in your ears start (I do see however it started this month, so it's very recent). Was it right after the syringing? Or did the syringing "only" hurt, but didn't trigger your tinnitus? Welcome to TT!

Yea, it was done by the machine you mentioned. It didn't come out at first so it took a little more time, which may be the cause. The left ear took longer than the right, and the T is a little worse too on that side.

One day after syringing I noticed T in my left ear when I woke up. I didn't persevere this ear with oil. I Only wanted my rightr ear to be syringed, the one which was persevered with oil. Before I even knew it the GP nurse was syringing my not oiled ear.

If eardrops is used 3x a day for 7 to 10 days before the earwax is removed problems won't usually occur. Removing earwax by curette can also cause problems when eardrops...

Hey Dave I don't think syringing will make your t go if it was caused by noise exposure. If there is ear wax and you get that cleared it could lower the volume of t. Prob won't cure it though. Some people have gotten t from routine syringing as well so be careful.

Please, absolutely refuse if your ENT will try to remove your earwax with microsuction or syringing. The best option is manual cleaning.

I know what you mean, but I would be careful with these types of assumptions. Acoustic trauma may be clinically different from trauma to the ear (eg. ear syringing) - at least from a tinnitus perspective.
