    Tinnitus from Alcohol Withdrawal

...onset. I don't think there's much you can do, other than waiting it out. What I have to say though is, don't beat yourself up by thinking the alcohol withdrawal was the reason for it. It may be idiopathic or maybe there's a (treatable) cause for it. For such a mysterious thing like tinnitus...

Alcohol Is Not an Approved Treatment

I'm pretty certain alcohol increases mine too, but since I flucuate it's impossible to know. New Year's Day I did have champagne and did not get loud; but I was loud the next day. In general, alcohol either reduces or increases your noise. But, since alcohol acts on GABA receptors, you would...

Retigabine (Trobalt, Potiga) — General Discussion

Everything went well, until last night

I always find my T is much worse the day after drinking alcohol. It has always reduced back to my normal level though. I did find that I think my trigger for the spikes is alcohol rather than the noise: I've had no spike after a loud night out without alcohol (with plugs) but then a huge spike...

I Took Some Zopiclone and the Tinnitus Stopped

It does mess with the GABA but to what degree I don't know. Alcohol withdrawal will be causing all sorts of havoc in your brain atm so it's perfectly expected that your tinnitus is going to be harder to cope with, but stay strong!

Pulsatile Tinnitus That Cycles Every Few Seconds?

...with cerebral angiograms, but first the MR. The last couple of nights were fairly good, I could sleep without valerian. I do drink a fair amount of wine, though. Alcohol takes my mind off pulsatile tinnitus, normal tinnitus, coronavirus, economic crisis. Alcohol is a good friend of mine.

Can Tinnitus Become Worse After One Night of Heavy Drinking?

only if you would do it (almost every) day for a long period of time aka abusing alcohol. alcohol is then known to be ototoxic but certainly not from drinking from time to time even if it's heavy drinking I would say.

Alcohol is great in that it gives you the ability to not give a damn about your tinnitus (and it generally makes the world seem like less of a crappy place). The only problem is when you use it regularly to cope. Alcohol never had an effect on my tinnitus at all, even after heavy drinking. I...
