Unexpected Relief: Pulsatile Tinnitus Vanished After Rhinoseptoplasty

Hi Chilly, I just acquired pulsatile tinnitus in my good hearing ear. The other ear just was diagnosed with sudden sensorineural high-frequency hearing loss & tinnitus. What specifically did you have done to your nose? I was just told I have a deviated septum. Exercise makes mine completely...

Acoustic Shock → Misdiagnosis → PPPD: 18 Months of Pain and Finally a Way Out

Most of the symptoms have disappeared in 12 months after starting medication, incl. dysacusis. I had no previous ear problems; it all started with the accident. I believe the accident is not connected to any Eustachian tube issue (I have had many ear tests), but rather to the nervous system. I...

Train Horn Exposure: Can It Damage Hearing or Make Tinnitus Worse?

I try my best not to. I started wearing hearing protection many times a year ago, and it gave me mild hyperacusis. So now I am trying to go back outdoors without earplugs, but I do keep my dB meter on when I find myself in busy or stressful situations, like today. The horn did make my tinnitus...

Electrical Stimulation of the Cochlea for Treatment of Chronic Disabling Tinnitus

It’s a middle ear implant. The cochlear promontory, which is in the middle ear, sits right next to the round window membrane that leads to the inner ear and cochlea. A primary goal of this technology is to preserve hearing, so hearing should not be lost. I think there is still a processor...

What makes it frustrating is that I can expose to sounds no problem, and then a few hours after or even in the morning I'll know if it was too much and if I'll spike or have a hyperacusis warning. Makes it SUPER hard to know how and when exposure is successful

Adjusting to Hearing Aids After Long-Term Tinnitus: Strange New Symptoms and Questions

I am another month in, and I am 50/50, if the hearing aids are helping my tinnitus or making it worse, by overexciting my auditory system? Some days the tinnitus is quite bad, though I am wondering if it is from, say, a busy workday; it could also be that my brain has just been receiving too...

Train Horn Exposure: Can It Damage Hearing or Make Tinnitus Worse?

If it was just a short blast, then I wouldn't worry. If you already have tinnitus and the train horn exacerbated it (made worse), then, provided that you don't get anxious over it, nothing will happen.

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

I do, yes. My main hope is that it will be something that can keep our existing tinnitus at baseline should we get worse. Then we can go live our lives again without worrying about every little noise exposure. And no more GD earplugs.

I've talked to my psychiatrist. What i'm going to do is take clonazepam a bit more frequently for 1 month (0.25mg or 0.5mg every 3-4 days for a month). Since it works well on my tinnitus and hyperacusis, he suspects that clonazepam might calm my nerves enough to allow me to wean off protections...

It's the loudness chart from the 6-week pivotal crossover trial. That's one stumbling block with the 6-week crossover trial.
