Facet Joint Injections — Did It Affect Your Tinnitus in Any Way?

Anyone had any experience of facet joint injections? If so, did it affect your tinnitus in any way? I had spinal fusion surgery just over a year ago, but the disc above has now collapsed, so I’m booked for these injections this coming Friday. It’s a mixture of steroids & anti-inflammatories...

Anyone Out There? Could Use Some Support. Today My Tinnitus Is Literally Deafening.

I've got an alarm clock that plays all the nature sounds etc.& a speaker pillow, but I don't think it will help, it's just too loud. Thank you anyway though

Anyone Out There? Could Use Some Support. Today My Tinnitus Is Literally Deafening.

I could really use some support, anyone able to help? I've had tinnitus forever 10 yrs but for some reason it has kicked off incredibly loud today, it's literally deafening. I'm trying not to panic, but I am scared.

    Beconase

I'm trying not to freak out, my usually stable tinnitus, has suddenly gone through roof, it's like a droning jet engine, worse in the left ear, combined with a high pitch screech. I recently started using Beconase nasal spray & am wondering if this could be the cause. Has anyone had any bad...

Teeth Clenching Makes My Tinnitus Queiter — Why?

one of the questions in the tinnitus survey asks if tinnitus improves if you clench your teeth - which mine does, it becomes quieter, does anyone know what that means?

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Yes it has. I don't regret doing the trials, anything is worth a shot & I'm thankful I didn't have to pay for it. The amitriptyline hasn't made the T. any quieter, it just helps me not to let it bother me so much.

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi I was on trials too & I definitely wouldn't pay for it. It ages for my T.to settle afterwards & I found nothing positive in it. I'm now taking amitriptyline, just at night & it's made a real difference for me; wish I tried it years ago, but I was too stubborn & didn't want to take drugs...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Louise & Mark Just wondering how you both are? I've not been too bad, in fact the summer months were comparatively good - especially after I stopped wearing the ANM; I would say that device set me back massively, I had to learn to habituate all over again. Now that the weather is damp...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Dhaval Thanks. Sorry, I don't have any idea what me frequency was/is, all I know is that at one of the re-programming appointments my left ear was too high for the device, so I had to have a break, then go back & have it done again. The thing with the re-programming is that you just don't...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Louise & Mark Long time no speak - how are you both doing? I have stopped wearing the ANM & am feeling much happier, my T.seems to be pretty much back to how it was at the start - which is obviously not nice, but it's what I can cope with & accept. The main thing is, because I'm not wearing...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Per Welcome to the site, I hope you find the experiences of others helpful, as I do; I find it supportive, especially when my T.spikes which can make you feel very isolated. Sorry you had such a bad time with the ENT Consultant, when I first got T. & saw one, I had the complete opposite -...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Have to agree, don't hang your hopes on ANYTHING & the 3 things you've listed (Carlover) are spot on! One thing I would say though, NHS ENT varies SO much, depending on where you live. I was living the Dorset area for 4 years (moved back to Bristol a year ago) & I had a brilliant tinnitus...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi That must have been very frightening waking up in the night like that, I've woken before with some horrendous noises going on; the biggest fear is always - will it stay like it. In answer to your question, no I'm not sure if its a positive effect or not. I went through a stage, when I'd...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Steve I'm on the tinnitus trials, I finish in August. They don't say if any of what you experience is 'normal' - that's the frustrating part. But hopefully at my last appointment I will find out more. The other thing I should say is, when I first started wearing the device I developed a...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Just wanted to say that I too had exactly the same initial response to wearing the device. I've had T.for 9 years, so I was fairly well habituated, but when I first started wearing the device I felt like I'd gone back to square one - I was constantly aware of my T.again all the time & very...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Mark How are the trials going for you? I was there last Thursday (21st March); it was not a good day! My journey was disrupted by an issue on the tubes, so I was over an hour late. When Amy did the matching process she said my left ear was now too high to be pitched/programmed into the...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Mark Wow you have to travel a long way, I thought Bristol to London was bad enough! It's the same place that I go to. I have only ever seen one other person there at the same time as me, a tall ish guy, maybe mid fifties - he was just leaving and wearing the device, I was just arriving and...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

They haven't said what it will or won't get rid of; they don't tell you anything, they say that's all part of the trials. All I know is what I have been able to find out on the net & on here. Mine used to be like morse code in my right ear, but I had a really bad spell last year & it changed...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Pen No, my T.was and is, not always the same level. It started 8 years ago after a virus in my ears. Initially it was much worse in my left ear but with time, the right became pretty much equal. Over the years I have had some truly awful times and even now, it's still freaks me out. Catarrh...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi Mark I think perhaps we are on the same trials. I found out last week that I too have been on the treatment & not the placebo. Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

Hi, (sorry, not sure of your name) Matching the tone is definately the difficult part & each time I go, I get home & think I'm not sure I got it right! It is very very difficult & quite stressful (just what you need when you have tinnitus!). It is also very time-consuming; takes several hours...

Acoustic CR® Neuromodulation: a New Treatment for Tinnitus

I am currently taking part in tinnitus clinical trials of the ANM Neurostimulator. I have been wearing the device for 3 months & so far, much to my negativity, I am pleased to say that results are positive. Anyone thinking of trying it (it is currently available from the Tinnitus Clinic in...

    Morning Tinnitus

Can anyone help or relate with this please - although I've had T. for over 8 years, I have recently been waking with a really severe humming, just I'm my left ear (my T.is bilateral). It gradually disappears during the day, so I go to bed with just (I say 'just', but you all know what I mean) my...

    Hello, I'm new!

Hi, I am new to this website, but pleased I've found it. I have had tinnitus for 8 years, the result of a virus I contracted in my ears. Over the years I have tried numerous things but nothing has really had any effect. Sometimes I am able to habituate quite well, but at others, I struggle -...
