    Marijuana / Cannabis and Tinnitus

Just adding my two cents here. I've recently gotten into using a vaporizer, and it definitely makes me T worse for at least a few days afterwards. If I space out my vaping and don't do it too much in a short period of time, I may not see any negative effects, but if I do too much too often, I...

High Blood Pressure = Eustachian Tube Dysfunction = Tinnitus Made Worse?

Further research is now telling me that both steroid nasal sprays, which I was using daily for about 2 1/2 months until this week for a sinus issue, and oral steroids, which I had just finished a 6 day course for my ETD, can cause high blood pressure. So it's possible that the things I was...

High Blood Pressure = Eustachian Tube Dysfunction = Tinnitus Made Worse?

My mistake. My original post wasn't clear. Looking in my ear showed no fluid, but the tymp test did show ETD (so my tymp test was not "clear"). Sorry for the confusion. ETD is short for eustachian tube dysfunction I'm sorry to hear that, @Karen. I have an appointment with my general doctor...

High Blood Pressure = Eustachian Tube Dysfunction = Tinnitus Made Worse?

I've had tinnitus my entire life, and it's been pretty consistent in volume and tone up until now. For the last 3 weeks, I've had regular bouts of the ringing in my right ear being a lot worse. More specifically, the tone has been going up and down a lot, and it's been driving me crazy. It's...

    Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

Has anyone noticed that their tinnitus caused by ETD seems to dissipate when laying down, but get worse once you're up and moving about? I've noticed this the last few days, and I'm wondering why that may be.

Swollen Eustachian Tube Causing Change in Tinnitus

Hi Dr. Nagler, I'm new to these forums, but I've already spent a lot of time reading through them, and I've seen you provide very helpful information to a lot of people. I'm hoping you don't mind sharing your opinion on my situation when you get a chance. My post may be a little long, but...

So My Doctor Put Me on Prednisone...

In my case, the tymp test is what indicated my e tube in my right ear was inflamed. I'm not sure if there are other ways to tell if there is inflammation, or if there may still be inflammation even though the tymp test came back okay. Hopefully someone else here has some more info on this that...

Changed Pitch After Many Years Without Changes?

So I went to my ENT today, and he said that my right eustachian tube is inflamed, and that this is likely the cause of my wonky T in my right ear. So in my case, it may aggravated T may not have been noise induced, as I was suspecting. He said this could be the result of allergies, or could be...

So My Doctor Put Me on Prednisone...

I'm pretty sure this is NOT the case. I think I've read that in certain situations, where trauma has occurred, prednisone should be administered asap. This may be what you're referring to. However, in other situations such as, for example, inflamed eustachian tubes, it can be taken whenever.

So My Doctor Put Me on Prednisone...

I was just prescribed a 6 day course of methylprednisolone. My pre-existing T in my right ear has been at a higher frequency and changing in tone for the last 2 weeks, and my ENT said that my Eustachian tube in that ear is inflamed. The steroid is supposed to help calm that down, which will...

    Eustachian Tube Dysfunction

@Koz, Do you still think the pot was linked to your ETD? My pre-existing tinnitus has been worse in my right ear for a couple of weeks now and I feel more pressure in that ear than usual, and my ENT today said he believes my E tube in my right ear is inflamed. He believes this is the result...

    Morse Code Sound Changing Tones/Advice?

Maybe you'll luck out and the music/speakers will be somewhat off to the side and not too close to your table at the front. I've seen that setup before. Either way, have fun and good luck.

    Morse Code Sound Changing Tones/Advice?

Good luck! Hopefully you don't end up at one of those tables near the speakers. Those tables are the worst.

    Can Propranolol Worsen Tinnitus?

Unfortunately I don't have an answer to your question, however, I have a question that may help you in deciding whether you want to take propranolol. In general, if taking something ototoxic worsens your tinnitus, will it typically go back to its "normal" level once you stop taking the drug, or...

    Morse Code Sound Changing Tones/Advice?

Add me to the "morse code" list. I've had tinnitus my entire life, and for the most part, it's been a consistent, high pitch tone that I'm used to since it's all I know. But for the last 9 days, I've had this morse code, changing of tone going on in my right ear. I suspect it may have been...

Changed Pitch After Many Years Without Changes?

I'm 35 years old and have had tinnitus all my life. For the most part, my tinnitus rarely changes. I'll get the occasional temporary change when I get a bad head cold and am congested, or when I'm stuck somewhere really loud for a while, but my T has always returned to its "normal" level after...

    Marijuana / Cannabis and Tinnitus

Thank you. I definitely overdid it the last few weeks. I'm going to cut it down and limit it to weekends moving forward, and hope that my T goes back to normal soon. Thanks for sharing your experience. Becoming a "clear, concise tone" is a good way to describe what happens to me too. It's...

    Marijuana / Cannabis and Tinnitus

I'm 35 years old and have had tinnitus my entire life. It's always been an annoyance, but since it's all I've known, I've gotten used to it and it hasn't been a huge bother to me....until now. I'm far from a regular smoker. However, I recently got a vaporizer and have indulged way more than...
