If you're unable to take prednisone, consider taking NAC and chelated Magnesium. And do not test your hand with power tools again for a long bit, even with protection.

I don't think you gave yourself T from predinisone, it could have possibly been a delay. But take some nac and chelated magnesium and.... if you're wary, ask more people here on the prednisone, because prednisone is the first line of defense in treating noise injury and trauma.
