Sudden Hearing Loss Gave Me Tinnitus and Took My Life Away

Hey @BlueMoon86, I'm really sorry to hear you're struggling. I can completely relate to how it all started. I also have autism, and my whole world has always been games, music, and peace of mind where I can retreat when life's too much. That all changed when I developed sudden hearing loss...

@Kiyomi It's not your fault. There aren't enough people out there warning others about the dangers of sounds and headsets until it's too late and we end up on the forums. Dysacusis (Hearing Distortion) etc.

Isn't that the truth. I can only assume most of us have tried to explain our situation to our ENT; mine was absolutely clueless haha. Dysacusis (Hearing Distortion) etc.

I guess it's better to wait it out patiently and rely on neuroplasticity than experiment with medication that might only make things far worse, but that goes for regular tinnitus and hyperacusis, too. I know it's scary, especially in the early onset days. I was extremely anxious of sounds and I couldn't stand the sound of the refrigerator or my own PC. High anxiety + sound sensitivity is a hellish duo. But it will improve over time, it took me nearly two years to get there and I'm less...
