Valsalva Maneuver Caused New Squeal Noise Which Is Louder When I Insert My Finger in the Ear?

Hi. You may recognise my name. Have had tinnitus for some time, likely due to stress, though I believe I have an auditory processing issue, which I'm following up medically. I'm 16. Please read carefully. I'm curious regarding some valsalva maneuvers in July 2018. It was at a time where my ears...

Valsalva Maneuver Caused New Squeal Noise Which Is Louder When I Insert My Finger in the Ear?

I'm beginning to speculate, lying here in bed with the same squealing that appeared to be triggered by July 2018, whether I put too much pressure on it? I remember it being quite tricky to do, but I've been hyper aware of any symptoms since I developed health anxiety and can confirm no other...

Valsalva Maneuver Caused New Squeal Noise Which Is Louder When I Insert My Finger in the Ear?

I am mainly curious to know if you suspect an inner ear situation. I've seen the countless ridiculous suggestions of oval window tearing. Do you see this as a possibility on the table?

Valsalva Maneuver Caused New Squeal Noise Which Is Louder When I Insert My Finger in the Ear?

It's not rational proposing the possibility of a permanent issue and not suggesting what this could be? Do you believe the inner ear could've been affected? I'd argue that more symptoms would have to be present. Are you thinking eustachian tube issues? Prefer you wouldn't use "recover" as...

Valsalva Maneuver Caused New Squeal Noise Which Is Louder When I Insert My Finger in the Ear?

Thanks, what do you think happened? I haven't seen ENT because I have had health anxiety which meant I've been focusing on other issues. Should be seeing one by end of year though.

Valsalva Maneuver Caused New Squeal Noise Which Is Louder When I Insert My Finger in the Ear?

Anyone with any opinions? -Valsalva manoeuvre July 2018, not that forceful, but quite loud -Squealing in right ear made louder by putting finger in, kinda ever since July 2018, though I think it's been pretty on and off -Eustachian issue? Permanent damage? It has been a whole year now. Done...

Any additional opinions on the football incident?

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Great. Mock exams next week and depressed over left ear. 8 kHz in the left is blatantly quieter than in the right, and I'm pretty confident that this is to do with the football hitting my left ear in September.

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

So, yes, the football incident, where a ball was kicked quite hard and hit me on the left ear, happened 6 months back now. But now I'm starting to believe that maybe it didn't kill the hair cells in the inner ear but made them vulnerable and now they've become damaged. I really don't know...
  11. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

to be honest a factor that indicates no damage is that I didn't notice any symptoms after the incident. Hearing loss by a sudden impact of a football would be immediately noticeable, by a feeling of muffledness or fullness. I felt dazed but no symptoms after. Just worrying 6 months on to be...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

It's been nearly 6 months so I really doubt that something that happened 6 months ago is showing up now. What do you actually mean?
  13. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Excellent. Look, it happened in September, honestly didn't experience any fullness or muffled hearing at all, I am now worrying about it 5 months on. Just, someone, tell me what you think happened. Read carefully my statement above.
  14. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

More of an opinion on the chance of damage from the impact. Football was travelling fast because the kick was hard, would say from approx 20 to 30 metres away.

Anyone got an opinion? It was a hard hard hit.

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Hi all. You may recognise my name, I used to post it last year. An incident occurred back in September 2018, where during lunch time at school, a football was kicked and it ended up hitting me square on the left ear. People who saw it tell me it was travelling quite fast, and it came from not...

  18. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I tell a lie.. My right ear is feeling quite full but this has been going on longer than the incidents. I'm pretty sure my middle ear pressure is playing up because I'm hearing alot of estuachian tube sounds. Anyway fullness is supposed to be accompanied by muffled hearing if it's a trauma...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I have been hearing, mainly since the suction earlobe thing yesterday morning, an air leaking sound. I'm scared to understands that someone on another thread said this was acoustic trauma! So this earlobe suction gave me acoustic trauma? How? No pain of muffled hearing or fullness so surely it's...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Again if anyone knows what I mean let me know. Pushing in those flaps of skin to plug your ears, then letting go and hearing a loud pop from moisture within the ear. I've just done it to myself 3 times this morning. The thing with my OCD is I have to do this to check my ears, even though there's...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

It's these constant incidents that brings me back. On Thursday, some kid clapped loudly and he was right next to my right ear. That evening, the scream from my brother. Here's what I think is significant: a suction from my ear on the pillow Friday morning. I remember clearly it was my earlobe...

I guess I need to address this properly. I am not a troll. I promise. I'm not having fun at all. I would never ever try and make fun of imitate this condition. I am suffering from it. Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I'm very insulted. Not the case. I do read them all. I am here because I have chronic anxiety currently about tinnitus. Some silly person at school clapped next to hear loudly yesterday + brother scream yesterday. I have a new tone in the right ear this time.

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Big accident this morning. I happened to be lying on my right side and my earlobe was folded like into my ear. Do when moved my head off the pillow, there was a suction noise from the earlobe. No muffled hearing or fullness though, but a new tinnitus noise I'm pretty sure

I agree. something is off. Well, take a look at this. My brother, screaming. Volume down obviously everyone. This just happened. And THIS is why I am experiencing feelings of hatred towards him. Oh well I thought I could insert a short video, I guess not. Well, I was recording while on my...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I still think the ball may have something. My tinnitus is definelty worse, but I didn't start having tinnitus issues in terms of a spike since like a couple weeks after it happened. Surely if the ball had done something I would've noticed something sooner. Opinions please help. Worried about...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Who rated this informative? This is the most scare mongering message I've ever seen. Most people I know have had a similar experience and are fine.
  33. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

The incident didn't affect my hearing either. No muffle or dill feeling. It just pushed wax further in. Well this is what anxiety revolves around now, as my tinnitus is so bad right now. This ball thing.
  34. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Surely if the football was a big factor it would've caused tinnitus within days. It didn't.
  35. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Well actually there really was no problem with tinnitus after this incident. There were other things that happened afterwards that got me anxious and it got worse. Had a few incidents recently. Someone literally slapping there palms together in front of me. Someone also shouting loudly for...
  36. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Right well this certainly isn't helping me. I actually didn't even have any temporary loss of hearing. Or ringing. Remember I've had tinnitus for a while now. Long before a ball hit me. God I hope someone has a different opinion.
  37. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I'm thinking more and more about this football incident. I literally had some football hit me at some force directly on my left ear about 6 weeks back now. Starting to believe this is responsible.

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I'm still very angry that my brother screamed at the top of his lungs yesterday, me being about 5 metres away. Twice he did it. Twice. Am I going to be ok? There were people closer and they didn't really care that much, and I am sensitive to sound. But I think it was genuinely very loud.
  39. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I'm actually starting to feel intense hate for my toddler brother, who screamed twice very loudly when I was just 5 or 6 metres away about 5 minutes ago, took me off guard. My stupid dog who should know by now not to bark.
  40. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

This is my big fear that lead me to checking 8KHz. I've had many hearing tests, the most recent was in February, showing no damage. But, a month ago, a football did hit my left ear hard. I didn't notice any hearing changes luckily but of course I would go on to obsess over these high...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Panicking like hell. It's a case where it will happen whether you release slowly. Not sure if I mentioned but I plugged ears by pushing in that flap of skin next to ear canal. Releasing at any speed means could still happen. I'm panicking hard. Tinnitus loud. Questioning deeply this liquid pop...
  42. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Oh my god I'm so angry. I can't believe this liquid pop happened again. It did seem loud, being in my ear canal, but technically this is a quiet sound that seems loud because it's in the ear. For example, a balloon popping would obviously be far different next to the ear then whatever this...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I just can't see how it could be dangerous Right, another flipping emergency situation. There was so noise coming from somewhere, and I absolutley freaked out and thought it was a new tinnitus, so I only when and plugged my ears but pushing in the flaps of skin, in complete panic I promise it...

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

This is really bothering me Bill. Basically my ears get clogged with wax very easily and quickly, so I've been constantly told that I need to be using olive oil. So, we did. Got my mum to a put a tiny bit in (The ear with current tinnitus). She was very careful but again I did get a slight...
  45. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Furthermore I haven't found anyone here who describes a popping liquid in the ear so by "sounds produced in the ear canal" are you describing other, more loud, sounds
  46. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Well I sincerely hope liquid popping in the canal, which many people will actually get when massaging the ear after applying olive oil, isn't that dangerous. The sound of a yogurt pot snapping hurts alot more, so I think there might be a perception element. Anyone want to chime in on this...
  47. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I can't just stop putting my fingers in my ears when I need to check the tinnitus. I need to do it. Obviously I will not do it with wet hands and will make sure they are clean. It's really bad it's actually WORSE. My fingers do sometimes make clicky noises when in my ears but I don't expect...
  48. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Well I'm feeling pretty lost right now. It's very loud ringing, and I'm just so worried. Remember, the reason I was doing the frequency test in the first place was because I've essentially noticed a loss of high frequency hearing in the left for some reason. Which makes me think it's due to the...
  49. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I am panicking like hell. Bills' post certainly didn't help and didn't make sense, because it depends on what sound it is as to whether it's dangerous next to or in the ear canal. This ringing Is really loud and it's been 2 days since my frequency, which I don't even get how that started this.
  50. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Well Bill yes the source of the sound was at the canal but it obviously depends on what sound this is. A balloon popping next to the canal is worse than water popping in the canal. Feeling quite down because it's 2 days since I did the test and still it loud in the left ear.
  51. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Can't help but feel this liquid bang in my ear has made it permanent. It's still bad.
  52. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

why would plugging ears be dangerous then? Explain? I do it to check tinnitus. I just did and I did panic over a joint click in my finger in my ear, but surely this can't be dangerous? I'm scared.
  53. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

It's my Dad's birthday today, so we went out to a restuaraunt for dinner. No way I could just not go. I did bring a type of ear plug, one you can mesh into a shape and put in your ear. To be honest, it was very uncomfortable so I ended up not wearing them and instead folding my earlobes over my...
  54. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

Panic is intensifying. The water popping in ear canal has clearly had an effect. It's loud. This isn't good at all.
  55. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I'm sorry but there appears to be confusion. I'm not talking about fluid behind my eardrum, I'm talking about when the ear canal is wet and finger movements within the canal (e.g. plugging it then moving your finger or jaw, causes a loud water bang from the ear canal). I'm talking about a loud...
  56. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

No no no this pop is not the typical middle ear pressure pop, it's an actual pop made by liquid in my ear canal, like a bubble popping in my ear canal. Still nothing to worry about? This tinnitus is unlike anything I've experienced. Please read post regarding me testing 8khz. Please tell me...
  57. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

It's really really loud What have I done? I've made it worse with a liquid pop in the ear. How did this even begin with a quiet 8 kHz tone. Might have to see an ENT urgently because it's so loud and I don't know what I've done.
  58. JoshuaD2002

Probably the Worst Thing That Can Happen!

I'm so annoyed and sad. So I've woken up this morning and it's still there so I've panicked. And just 10 minutes ago the worst thing happened. There was some motorbike going past so I plugged my ears, and for some reason my finger was wet (sweat) and I was chewing on something and... I can't...

i really wanted an opinion on whether what I did is dangerous as super loud tinnitus resulted from it
