I think I might try an edible and microdose next weekend with a friend. I just don't want to let tinnitus stop me from these things that I love. Is there ANYONE who has a positive or neutral experience using marijuana with tinnitus??

I miss weed so much. I really want to get back to doing what makes me happy.

I wonder if there is some merit to this. I did see an audiologist who did an extended audiogram and I only have mild hearing loss at 14 kHz and 16 kHz in my right ear. I definitely have hyperacusis but maybe that's related to my hyper awareness and hypervigilance? Maybe I do need a break here.

I'm so sorry that you're going through it. I totally feel you. Some days it'll be quiet/silent and some days it'll be loud and intrusive. Sometimes it fluctuates between those two extremes multiple times throughout the day.

I really hope so. My tinnitus has changed so much since getting it at the very beginning of December. I know it's still really new and I hope it fades and calms down as time goes on.

I also had an extended audiogram. 15 dbc notch at 4khz in right ear and a 30 dcb drop at 14khz and 16khz in my right ear.

Was formally diagnosed with hyperacusis today. LDLs at best are at 50 and worst at 30....

It's been one full week since I have had the J&J vaccine. No change in tinnitus.

I had J&J vaccine about 44 hours ago and no effect on my tinnitus. I had body aches, fatigue, chills, and soreness at injection site. I feel much better this morning.

This may seem dumb, but I wonder if it's blood pressure related? I've noticed my distortions/hyperacusis/morse code tinnitus gets significantly worse after I've done anything to make my blood pressure increase like stress, exercise, or eating something high in salt.

It's not even that I can hear my tinnitus that bothers me, is that I can FEEL it.

My initial tinnitus *knock on wood* has faded SO much over the last 2 months. The sound distortions and hyperacusis are a whole other thing.

You're probably thinking of someone else. Although, he did prescribe me a diuretic which I haven't taken. I'm seeing another doctor to get a second opinion in a few weeks. I had a few days of no distortions but came back with a vengeance and I have no idea why.

This is a dumb question, but in terms of noise distortions, I'm assuming FX-322 would help with that, correct? Or is that a synapse issue?

My doctor told me today "I agree, you have no quality of life." Wow, first time we have agreed about something!

Tinnitus has been good today...the sound distortions and hyperacusis have been horrific....

I think this is definitely progress. I've been using the settings on my car heat as a gauge. When this first started happening even setting my heat to 1/4 would set off the distortions, now it takes getting up until 3/4 to set it off and it's not as intense. Today is a really, really bad day...

I actually work with other trauma survivors and have done a lot of research on how trauma affects the brain. Trauma actually does change the structure of your brain, including the frontal lobe.

I agree with @Aaron91, I'm really holding out for FX-322. I also feel hopeless in all of this. No answers, no way of knowing if this is the rest of our lives or not. I don't blame you for feeling this way. But maybe we really might just get lucky with FX-322. Hang in there!

Oh wow that sounds awful. It's definitely a beeping and not clicking and I definitely have a ringing lol. The beeping competes with other noises like the faucet/heat/fan etc. How long did it take you to get rid of your beep? I hope your drones go away like the beep did.

I had a coughing fit and my tinnitus spiked...ugh.

I was also on Methylprednisolone and it only made things so much worse for me... I just had tinnitus. Now I have hyperacusis and sound distortion.
