Is My Left Ear Really Destroyed This Time?

I was deaf for 15 minutes, and now (2 days later) it is still not fully recovered. But do you think it is not going to be a problem?

Is My Left Ear Really Destroyed This Time?

5 years ago I suffered hearing loss due to a fire alarm that resulted in permanent tinnitus. Yesterday I was sitting close to a loudspeaker that was off. Suddenly some moron decided to play music at MAX volume without a warning (it was quiet before so I didn't expect it at all). It was really...

    Clobazam Works for Tinnitus??

Well it is true man. I have tinnitus for 4 years now and it still gets reactivated regularly. However during this 4 years I sometimes managed to *completely* eliminate the T using different kinds of anticonvulsant drugs. But only temporary though, at the cost of heavy intoxication.

    Pregabalin (Lyrica)

When I take 300mg pregabaline my tinnitus halves in intensity. If I ad another benzo to that the tinnitus is almost completely gone for about 8 hours(alprazolam to be specific).

Tinnitus Masker for Residual Inhibition. What kHz?

Hi, I have been wearing a tinnitus masker for a year. My tinnitus is in the 6kHz range and that is also the frequency that my hearing aid masked. However, this masking sound does not cause residual inhibition. The thing I am curious about is, what if I do not mask the 6kHz range but <3kHz. I...

How to Habituate After 4 Years

I have severe pulsating "neurological" fluctuating tinnitus since four years, after suffering from mild noise-induced hearing loss. In the first two years it made me very depressed because the acoustic trauma was not my fault and I hated the world for doing this to me. Also I hated the doctor...

    DiPT an Auditory Psychedelic

Seroquel is kind off the opposite of a psychedelic. It binds to the same receptors (5-HT2A, 5-HT2C, D2) but not as an agonist but as an antagonist/inverse agonist (Seroquel blocks the effects of psychedelics). 5-HT2A and D2 antagonism may cause a reduction in tinnitus perception in some people...

    DiPT an Auditory Psychedelic

DiPT or Diisopropyltryptamine is a psychedelic tryptamine that primarily affect the auditory perception. It is well known that psychedelics cause long term changes in the brain by altering gene expression and downregulation of 5-HT2A and 5-HT2C receptors. I am curious if this "auditory...

Vigabatrin, a GABA Transaminase Inhibitor, Reversibly Eliminates Tinnitus in an Animal Model

Benzo's don't increase GABA levels. They simply bind to the GABA-A receptor and cause it to open further in response to GABA molecules binding to it. Vigabatrin does increase GABA concentrations and extend it's duration of action. Visual field defects seem to be light dependent. So maby taking...

Vigabatrin, a GABA Transaminase Inhibitor, Reversibly Eliminates Tinnitus in an Animal Model

Would it be possible to inject Vigabatrin straight into the auditory cortex were the tinnitus is generated in order to selectively destroy GABA transaminase in that area? (ofcourse i wouldn't inject it myself :) )

Should I Wear My Tinnitus Masker or Not?

I have tinnitus for 3 years now. My tinnitus gets reactivated all the time in response to annoying loud noises. I have bought a tinnitus masker(hearing aid with white noise) a year ago. About a month back i quit wearing it because i hoped that i would finnaly be cured from tinnitus by trying to...

How Can I Ever Habituate if My Tinnitus Gets Reactivated Over and Over Again

Im desperate. I have tinnitus for 3 years now, the neurological version. It started after a fire alarm went off 20cm from my left ear wich resulted in acute pain and deafness. Now i have mild high frequency hearing loss in that ear. Ever since that moment i cannot bear sounds any longer and it...
