    Ear Wax Discharge?

I feel for you because in the short time I smoked I loved it as well. Thankfully I don't have any urges to smoke it because I forced myself to quit. It made my T spike, or I was more aware of it at least. I think because I have ETD and past sinus issues in the last 4 months that the weed wasn't...

    Ear Wax Discharge?

I've been having some issues with my ears (eustachian tube dysfunction) for the last few months. Every time I stick my pinky finger in my ear (don't worry, I'm not being forceful or shoving it in there too deep haha) it comes out with a waxy goo-like substance. I'm sure it's just earwax but it...

Left Ear Pops When Nodding Head Up and Down

If I put my chin down to my chest and then quickly (not too fast but not slowly) pull my head back up, I can hear a small pop in my left ear just as I am lifting my head back up. It doesn't sound like my jaw, and isn't like a normal popping sensation in the ears. I can just hear a faint pop 75%...

    Things Are Getting Better

Still haven't gotten back into it. My friend even gave me a pot brownie for my 22nd birthday last week and I rejected it. I bet it wouldn't go as badly with edibles as it would with smoking, but I could do without the possible anxiety.

    Things Are Getting Better

It's been a few weeks since I have posted, mainly because I am sure of my cause of T and have been coping much better. My T is caused by this ongoing sinus problem (I just noticed tonight that my tonsils still have not rid themselves of these grayish spots. I plan to ask the doctor about that...

Dizziness Is a New Thing Now

Unbelievable, every single time I feel like I'm getting better I wake up the next day feeling worse, and this is a new "worse". The dizziness is extremely slight but my balance isn't 100% and even typing this message on my phone my fingers feel exhausted. I'm going to give it today and go to...

Dizziness Is a New Thing Now

Update: woke up after over 9 hours of sleep and felt like I could go for another 5-6. My body was very fatigued, balance seemed okay and no dizziness. But I feel very tired... Correction, I take it back. If I stare at one object in the room the whole room starts to spin very very slowly. I can...

Dizziness Is a New Thing Now

Today I found myself slightly dizzy in class. I've been having sinus issues for the last 3 months and a little over a week ago my right ear filled up with more fluid. It caused me to have patulous Eustachian tube where I could hear my breathing slightly. When I looked down at my keyboard at my...

Hearing Breath and Voice in One Ear

I plan on going back to the doctor in the next few days if there is no progress. My left ear has been going in and out of ringing for the past week and a half, so I'm hoping it will go away but I'm worried that the sinus infection might not be the cause and it's ideopathic.

Hearing Breath and Voice in One Ear

For the last week I've been able to hear my breathing in my right ear. One week ago I went to bed with my right ear feeling full and pressured, and it almost felt like fluid was pouring into it. I woke up unable to open the eustachian tube. Even the valsalva maneuver wouldn't open it for an hour...

    Patulous Eustachian Tube

Recently I've been hearing my breath in my right ear, as well as a subtle reverberation when I speak. The autophony is not terribly loud, and I do not have any hyperacusis. I can just hear my breath when I exhale in one ear. I've been dealing with sinus problems for a while, and a week ago I...

    Eardrum Can't Hold Air Pressure

I saw a doctor today and she did not see any rupture in the eardrum which is great news. She gave me flonase to help keep the sinuses open and kill this lingering sinus issue that's been around for 3 months now. I'm not sure if that's really going to help, but I might as well try. I'm sick of...

    Eardrum Can't Hold Air Pressure

Thanks for the replies everyone, I'm not even sure I am able to pop my ears when I do this, I just get to the point where my ears feel plugged then I relieve the pressure, I've never popped them directly from the valsalva maneuver. I will go to the doctor tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I haven't...

    Eardrum Can't Hold Air Pressure

When I plug my nose and blow air, causing my ears to fill up, my right ear doesn't quite hold the air pressure in there. Normally both ears hold the pressure until you pop them. But with my right ear kind of inflates then deflates without me popping them. Is this a sign of a blockage, or a...

After Feeling Better, I Feel Worse...

I was given amoxycillin about a month in by a GP when my tonsils started to get white spots on them. The ENT gave me prednisone about 3 weeks ago which did help, but once I was off of it my body returned to it's normal slow rate of recovery. When I saw the ENT the second time (after the meds...

    Marijuana / Cannabis and Tinnitus

I'm not sure but I know it was very dank weed. It looked like the kind that isn't totally natural, if you know what I mean. It wasn't laced with anything because it didn't affect any of my friends but I think the fact that it was very strong, plus all of the other factors I mentioned, really...

    Marijuana / Cannabis and Tinnitus

Beating a dead horse but it made my tinnitus much louder, or at least I was more aware of it. Probably a combination of the two. It also gave me extreme anxiety and I started wondering if something else was wrong with me. Haven't smoked in 2 months and I was doing it 3 times a day. There was...

Very valid points; I'm not sure I truly have it. Like I said I've experienced this when having a cold and working out at the gym. Tinnitus Virtually Gone, Does This Mean My Ears Will Eventually Stop Clicking?

Oh yes, I love myself some good steam inhalation! I can feintly hear my breath in my right ear as well, which makes me feel like my right E-tube is already open. It's crazy, it's like our bodies fight and then take a break. My ears feel "normal" now, meaning they are back to the way they have been feeling. Just the clicking noise. Update: I went to bed with my right ear feeling kind of full, and woke up with it completely sealed shut. I swallowed and yawned and could not open up my eustachian tube. It's gotten much better since then, as does anything with sinuses, but my right ear still feels a tiny bit closed up. I...

    Cold and Sore Throat

My tinnitus came from a sinus infection and I have also been hearing a clicking when I swallow. I believe it's because there is mucus in the eustachian tubes that hasn't completely cleared. This can cause our ears to feel plugged from time to time when swallowing. Steam definitely helps, as well...

Tinnitus Virtually Gone, Does This Mean My Ears Will Eventually Stop Clicking?

The ringing happened at the same time as getting sick, and the initial doctor visit said that it was an infection that attacked my ears first. I've never heard any distortion of sounds, no. Everything is fine except that my throat still gets a build-up of mucus throughout the day from postnasal drip. Tinnitus Virtually Gone, Does This Mean My Ears Will Eventually Stop Clicking?

The title essentially explains it all. In the last 3-4 days the ringing has been basically nonexistent. When Will My Eustachian Tubes Clear Up??

It's a shame that some doctors aren't considerate of their patient's worries. That's insane that the ENT didn't do any of that; what's the point of the Doctor having a job then?? Have you tried steam? Breathing in steam has helped me. My right ear feels better and my left is coming along...

    Unbearable Crackling Sound

Ears Feeling Like They're Being Tugged

It's a strange feeling, it must have something to do with pressure that causes tension. Or perhaps it's the ears adjusting or something? Does Sugar Make Anyone's Tinnitus Louder?

I've never been 100% conscious of how sugar has made my T feel, but the ENT I visited said the 4 worst things for T is salt, alcohol, caffeine, and smoke (tobacco/nicotine/marijuana). Sugar is definitely not great for it either to my knowledge.

Haven't touched the stuff in over a month now ;) In a way tinnitus caused me to quit the habit of smoking constantly. I hope so as well! I will hold my celebrations, of course, because I can't afford to get my hopes up only to be shot down when the ringing does not cease. Well, I have had a sinus infection for a while now which is causing my eustachian tubes to be just as enflamed as my nasal passage. Trying to Be STRONG… How Do You Cope?

Music and tea have been big for me. Not only does music keep my mind off of the noise, it is very cathartic and helps draw me out of the many slumps I've had in the past 2 months from this (as long as it isn't too loud, of course ;)). Tea does the same for me, it really eases the mind. I highly...

Poll: How Depressed Are You Now?

It's all ups and downs. If I hold my confidence, I can feel great. If I think about the bad possibilities of the future, I can become pretty depressed and pessimistic. It can also lead to feeling stressed out. Stress doesn't help T at all, so it's important to try and stay positive!

Why Didn't Prednisone Help Me with My Infection-Caused Tinnitus?

the ENT I saw said prednisone would help with inflammation in the nasal passages, so I would imagine that medicine is similar. I have a popping in my ears so I probably have ETD as well due to the sinus infection. I wouldn't describe my T as a hiss though, it's a very high frequency ring.

You and I are in the same boat it sounds like, Naus. Ten weeks ago I started hearing the ringing and a low-grade cold followed. Why Didn't Prednisone Help Me with My Infection-Caused Tinnitus?

The ENT I saw actually said that prednisone is supposed to reduce the inflammation in the nasal passages, and would help to get rid of an infection. I am reading now that the steroid decreases the immune system, as you said. But I felt a bit better after using it...now I question why I was...

I was prescribed prednisone for 12 days after about 7 weeks of feeling congested and having tinnitus. 40 mg for 3 days, 30 mg for 3, and so on with tapering.
