Sorry to bump an old post but I have this too? I'm going through a spike at the moment where my low-frequency tinnitus is much louder than normal. if I pull on my ear closer to the back of my head, the sound goes away.

This is really interesting stuff! It's important to stay positive with T and this is something that gives hope to people. I remember when news of Autifony came out, that was what gave me hope which evidently led to me habituating the first time. I know Autifony didn't go quite so well but...

Went to see a nurse today and she said the wax is starting to soften after two days of ear drops. I've also found a place that does microsuction nearby which I may consider. Still contemplating what to do though, have had quite a bit of pain in the affected ear after running in the cold yesterday.

Did you soften the wax prior to syringing?

Do you think just using ear drops on their own would work to clear out the wax? I've started using Cerumol.

So you think syringing may not damage my ears further? I'm still really apprehensive about it honestly.

Wow thanks for all the advice! Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to afford a private ENT appointment so I think I'll just try ear drops at home for a week and see if that works, I hope it does.

When I first tried it I was on 50mg ONCE a day haha! It depends on what your doctor says but I would suggest trying around 100mg three times a day!

After a year of not caring, the almighty T is back! Let's get through this.

Hey guys, it's been over a year since I've posted on TT. The reason I'm back is because my T has changed. I had habituated to the noise after about 6/7 months, meaning I could still hear it but it never bothered me anymore. However, yesterday morning, I woke up to a new noise in my right ear...

I haven't gone back to the doctor since my RTG ran out. Yeah my T is back to baseline.

I often had a few beers some nights when on 50mg RTG, didn't have negative affects personally.

3/4 depending on the day. It went down to 2 on RTG 50mg once a day. I'm going to get some more off my doctor as he's willing to prescribe me it but I don't know what dosage he's going to be comfortable giving me yet.

Haven't updated in a while. Just letting everyone know I'm not taking RTG anymore. T is at a 3, baseline.

It was at a 4/4.5.

Still on 50mg once a day. T is still at a 2/3-10.

I'm really not interested in reading people's argumentative debates about attitudes on this thread. Stick to retigabine please.

I woke up this morning having taken my only 50mg dose 12 hours before (taken at 8pm, woke at 8am) and my T was at a 1.5/2 - 10, it was unbelievably quiet.

Day 5 of 50mg once a day! Head noise is reduced, T is at a 2/10right now, it will change back to my 4/10 in the morning but still, this feels nice. :)

Day 4 of taking 50mg once a day. I've been taking it at about 8pm (9:54pm here right now) and today is the first day I've seen actual (probable placebo?) results. It seems it's a small bit quieter now than it was all day (I had a particularly bad day). I also got another hearing test today...

It sounds like you're doing well all things considered! Perhaps you should think about slowly increasing your dose and seeing the effect it has.

As I'm only on 50mg once a day, it's very hard to say. No noticeable change at the moment, I'll see how the next week goes before thinking about dosing up. I'll keep everyone posted!

T is so much quieter than when it started 6 months ago! I went to a concert last night wearing my vater musician's earplugs (http://vater.com/products/product.cfm?M=287) and there was no increase in T at all! I am so happy that there wasn't a spike! :) Learning to live with this thing.
