Will You Get Vaccinated for Coronavirus (COVID-19)? Can It Make Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Worse?

Just an update for me. I got both Moderna shots and one booster. I never experienced any kind of spike or increase. I’ll probably get this new omicron targeted booster sometime in the next couple weeks.

Will You Get Vaccinated for Coronavirus (COVID-19)? Can It Make Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Worse?

It’s now been a week since my second moderna shot and absolutely nothing. My tinnitus hasn’t increased one bit, if anything it seems quitter (probably because Im not stressing about side effects anymore).

Will You Get Vaccinated for Coronavirus (COVID-19)? Can It Make Tinnitus or Hyperacusis Worse?

Just got my second second Moderna shot three days ago and no side effects except for a sore shoulder. No change in tinnitus. I will update if anything changes but it seems like I’m out of the woods. Also, a friend of mine that has tinnitus got his second shot a month ago and hasn’t experienced...

Share Your Coronavirus (COVID-19) Vaccine Experience: Any Impact on Your Tinnitus or Hyperacusis?

I received my first Moderna shot three weeks ago and only got a very sore arm at the injection point (this could have been made worse because I worked out a bit on my shoulders that same day). No increase or decrease in tinnitus.

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

It’s a bit mind boggling that in this day and age you can’t just hook up the device via usb to your laptop and download the new program. Perhaps the device needs to be checked, calibrated or something to that effect?

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

Sorry I don’t come on here that often anymore. My reactive tinnitus has done very well, I’m happy to report. I still hear my tinnitus all day long but it mostly bothers me in the morning, but no where near how it did all last year. During the day my tinnitus sounds like a faint hiss and seems...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I’m wondering if there is any drawback or even danger in doing Lenire and then trying another neuromodulation device, such as Dr. Shore’s, at a later date?

I can’t think of anyone that has had any improvement on Lenire’s second six week setting. Am I wrong and if so, does anyone have any stats on how many people have had any improvement?

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

70% still sounds pretty good, but would you say that out of that 70% maybe only 25% experience very good results and the rest is average? Or how would you break it down?

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I capitulated and postponed my appointment until September. The whole coronavirus thing was the straw that broke the camel's back, and of course it would be great to see more positive data before committing to the treatment.

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I went through a similar rough patch last year. I had a pretty nasty spike from August to about mid December. I think it was due to going to a concert with faulty ear plugs, but not entirely sure. My sleep pattern wasn’t good at the time since I was traveling a lot so maybe it could have been...

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

In the podcast, Dr. Ross O’Neill mentions that one of the doctors who is working on the Minnesota device worked with him on Lenire for two years or so before they released it to the public. So I would imagine both devices will be similar.

Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

I’m definitely contemplating that idea. I’d still go to Dublin to have a few pints of Guinness and tour the country a bit. Do you know by any chance; when someone goes to the initial appointment for the hearing test etc., how long do they have to decide on whether or not they want to purchase...

I’m currently finding myself at a bit of a crossroad. I’m finally habituating to my tinnitus after it stared early January 2019. Even though it doesn’t seem as loud as it was, I still think it is the same volume since I need to raise my masker to the same volume in order to drown it out. My...

I'm Curious: What Are Your Favorite Relaxing YouTube Videos?

That water and flutes seems to work well for me. Thanks for sharing. Since my T is very high pitch, there aren’t too many sounds that can mask it. This is one that I listen to when I need to escape the sound in my head.

Your tinnitus sounds very similar to mine (high pitched with hearing loss in the 8 kHz region). I’m hoping Lenire will work for cases like ours. Sounds like we have appointments around the same time. Best of luck!

Otoharmonics (The Levo® Therapy System for Tinnitus)

I would recommend you read this whole thread from the beginning. From the research I’ve done, I haven’t found anyone who benefited from it. Also, from what I gather it used to cost $2500 but since Levo got into a contract with the VA, the cost more than doubled. US audiologists will claim it...

I was in Dublin last August and credit cards are fine everywhere. You may want to call your bank to see if they can send you a card with a scanning chip so you can just tap and go, if you don’t already have one. For some reason we’re a bit behind in the United States as it relates to that kind...

I’m so sorry to hear about your situation. Have you had any dental work done on that side? The reason I’m asking is because two years ago I developed something like what you describe. Some People Use Tinnitus as an Excuse to Get Benzos?

It’s really unfortunate, especially when it’s moderate to severe, like it is with most of us on this forum. The frustrating thing is people that make up the condition to get their hands on controlled substances.

Some People Use Tinnitus as an Excuse to Get Benzos?

Apparently junkies are making up the condition in order to get their hands on benzos. They are often prescribed for tinnitus. I remember a few ENTs I visited who wanted to prescribe those as a sleeping aid.

Some People Use Tinnitus as an Excuse to Get Benzos?

I was chatting with a close friend who is with LAPD and we were both talking about each other’s issues as we get older. TinnitusPlay — Mix, Modulate & Notch Sounds Tailored to Your Tinnitus

I downloaded TinnitusPlay but, unfortunately for me, the masking sounds (Sound Mixer) aren’t high pitch enough to mask my tinnitus. Not sure if this is doable but, I wonder if it’s possible to add a feature to where after we match our tinnitus, the app suggests masking sounds based on the...

Tinnitus for a Month After Flushing Ear with Water

When my tinnitus started, exactly a year ago, I was crossing a street in Chiang Mai, where I was vacationing at the time. It just started out of nowhere and was very loud. That triggered a long road of ENT visits (6 in total), ER, brain MRI, over 300 blood tests at my GP, it was crazy but...

I think they want to get FDA approval so they can just use that title as a selling point and to show it’s safe. Levo has FDA approval and from what I’ve heard, does nothing (at least I couldn’t find any reliable user reviews).

Misoprostol — A Treatment for Tinnitus?

I did some more digging. Looks like this drug has been around a while now. I found two studies done on it, one in the early 90’s and one in 2004. Supposedly it helps. I’m perplexed on why we haven’t heard more about it. Also, I wonder if you need to stay on it to get relief, in which case there...

New University of Michigan Tinnitus Discovery — Signal Timing

There doesn’t seems to be a clear answer. Some medical devices don’t require trials, this one does. Medical devices are divided in three classes: 1-2 and 3. This device would probably fall under class 2 is my guess, like most medical devices. She’s been working on this for years. Drugs...

I’m a bit wary about trials coming from India, but seems really promising if you can trust the what the report says. Tinnitus Started Two Weeks After Going on Statins

My cholesterol went up to 265 so my doc told me to either do cardio &diet or take the pills. I chose cardio. I do 30 min per day, 5 days a week of either elliptical or bike. The key is to keep your heart rate at 70% of your max heart rate for 150 minutes per week. In my case 30 min 5 times a...

Nonstop Static Hissing Sound — Doctor Says Nothing to Be Done for It

If you’ve only been to your GP, perhaps a visit to an audiologist or ENT might be worth it just in case they notice something your GP didn’t. Also, doing a hearing test would be helpful to see if perhaps you have any hearing loss, which more than likely you do, even if just a little.
