Advice for Tensor Tympani / Myoclonus Hyperacusis?

I was completely recovered from my Tensor Tympani issues for a while. I was able to expose myself to a bunch of clicking noises from my controller when playing video games and open wrappers without issues for 8 months. Then in the past couple weeks I was forced into getting a job and it required...

Physical Sensations Whenever Low-Pitched Tinnitus Kicks In? Anyone Else?

I only have the low-pitched hum in my left ear, and I get pain behind my left eye and sometimes the feeling of vibrations in my left eye. For a while I thought I was the only one who got feelings like this when their low-pitched tinnitus starts. I recently noticed other people on this site...

    Suicidal

If I just had regular tinnitus I would wait for the cure and suicide wouldn't be necessary. I got every complication possible, visual snow, hyperacusis, hearing loss at high frequencies, and low pitched tinnitus that somehow makes my eyes hurt and have blue flashes of light. Maybe some of these...

Advice for Severe Hyperacusis Caused by Microsuction / Medication?

Sorry this is really late. I don't know exactly what noise generator it is but it says "Brookstone" on it. It has 12 settings and I leave it on the default white noise setting. It's lower pitched than the white noise that I found on YouTube which should be better for hyperacusis.

Tinnitus After Loud Music (Max Volume for Seconds)

In my experience even if your tinnitus gets worse to the point that you hear it over all noise, it's not the end of the world. For me I never habituated to my tinnitus until it got really bad and reactive to the point I heard it all the time, which forced me to start getting used to it instead...

Tinnitus After Loud Music (Max Volume for Seconds)

I'm about 15 months in and my tinnitus barely bothers me anymore. I still think about it a decent amount but not in a way that makes me feel sad or annoyed, I just notice that it's there a lot. On the one hand, my genes must be pretty good seeing that it took 1,000-2,000 hours of music at max...

Advice for Severe Hyperacusis Caused by Microsuction / Medication?

There's some skepticism around using white/pink noise to gradually increase your tolerance to noise. From my experience, sitting in silence for a month did nothing to help... As soon as I started using a white noise generator all the time in my room, which I basically never left, my condition...

Shaking Head Quickly Stops My Low-Frequency Tinnitus Hum — Is It from Anxiety?

Shaking my head doesn't make a difference but like a lot of other people have said here, having noise constantly on in the background stops the low pitched noise completely. I only have it in my left ear. Only my right ear showed hearing loss on the audiogram but my high pitched tinnitus is...

Pain Hyperacusis in Relation to Acoustic Shock & Synapse Disconnection

I know nobody can really answer this question but do you think there will eventually be some treatment/cure to (mostly) get rid of noxacusis? When I say eventually, I mean in like the next 30 years. I was reading up on the last 3 pages of the Inner Hair Cell Regeneration thread which was...

Is a Full Recovery Possible from Extremely Mild Pain Hyperacusis?

@MindOverMatter, my tinnitus has been reactive since December after some noise exposure. The thudding movement has been since February and the slight pain started in March sometime after the MRI. @Born To Slay, the pain is sharp. I do feel heat in my ears every once in a while but it doesn't...

Is a Full Recovery Possible from Extremely Mild Pain Hyperacusis?

To explain why the white noise at 50 dB hurt but the MRI didn't, I only started using white noise after the MRI. Maybe the MRI did set me back some but during it there was still no pain.

Is a Full Recovery Possible from Extremely Mild Pain Hyperacusis?

I've only had pain twice (not counting the initial loudness of my white noise machine before I turned it down when turning it on). Once from a kid screaming outside and once from someone shouting next to me, both hurt only slightly. I was able to go through an MRI with ear plugs partially in...
