Eardrums heal. Colds effect sinus' and T. If you have moderate to severe inflammation in your sinus cavities from colds and or allergies it also effects the Eustachian tubes. That sizzling sound is sticky and or inflamed Eustachian tubes trying to open and drain. Middle ear air flow is...
Considering the amount of prescriptions written everyday all over the world for pill form Augmentin, where's the concrete proven reports of ototoxcity? We don't have enough info about these individuals who have claimed Augmentin causing hearing loss. Every person that has claimed hearing loss...
Absolutely. If the there's acute or chronic sinusitis inflammation and the e.tubes are involved, the ears can not balance sound and air pressure properly.
I've not been on in a long time but I'm responding bc your symptoms are sim to mine. I have mild hearing loss at high freq. range w/ mild T that most ppl have and tolerate. But there's another fluctuating tone that is like what you described I've had since 2014. It's baffling but I know lots of...
You can develop SPT on top of existing T (from hearing loss) which I believe is more likely unrelated. I have both. My T from hearing loss is the quiet room T (eeeeeee) and many ppl have this type, aware or unaware. April 2014, I woke up for no reason with what I know now is SPT. The SPT is...
To many experts in here.
You simply put to much pressure in your middle ear, putting pressure on your inner ear and that caused your dizziness.
Don't do it again. Your fine.
Try EARMUFFS instead of plugs. Years before T my dentist wore them and suggested I do them same. At the time I thought it was silly.
IMO theres a different effect between plugging ears and covering them. I think plugging is not good if your chewing or having dental work done. Idk. Just my opinion.
@bwspot
Did she ever describe her T sounds as somatic and or pulsating?
Im interested IF possible how long she began to notice T after her tooth extraction. Was it her wisdom teeth?
@Wout
Thanks for sharing your experience. Myself and others would like to read more of your journey with T and how you've managed this condition for over 3 decades.
Muscle tension from hunching over your PC in forum discussions and debating? A DMD I went to yesterday Rx'd me Baclofen (muscle relaxer) which I'll start after reading it over. Also I picked up a bottle of Hearing Rescue the other day that has Vinpocetine in it. I keep reading some have...
@tomm
My toddler contracted a viral skin infection called molluscum contagiosum. My concern is that this oral liquid CIMETIDINE is prescribed for up to 8 weeks.
So you have not seen a TMJ specialist.
Youre Dentist may be nice but could have caused more harm than good.
How did your T start?
Why do you think or suspect its TMJ related?
How is it now?
I think the prednisone reducing your T is indicative of hidden inflammation in your body somewhere that is causing your recent increase in volume. You should be looking into foods that cause and reduce inflammation.
It surpresses the immune system and that reduces acute and chronic inflammation through out the entire body. The intial spike is probably your immune system reacting to the drug and then it calms down.
@RicoS
Are you saying you had some previous dental work that went bad and then corrected recently and as a result your T is way down? If yes, what kind of dental work and T sounds where you experiencing, somatic, buzzing, etc...?
Do many people with MD have T long, even years before dizziness starts setting in? Is it subtle in a way you feel a little woozy from getting up to fast or is it like you just got off the tea cups at Disney?
For those who know or don't know, Rush Limbaugh is a controversial political radio personality (like him or not), has Tinnitus and cochlear implants. I don't know if his admitted previous addiction to OxyContin has anything to do with his T or not but he claims he lost his hearing due to...
I went to a Chiro and got an x-ray but he did seem to concerned. I also thought he didn't give it a close examination, kind of a quick look for larger more obvious issues.
Which would be better to see first, an Orthopedist or Neurologist?
This makes you wonder if upper neck and nerve issues...
I just discovered a normal single clap will cause my left ear to produce a higher pitch "eee" that lasts about 15-20secs. Is this reactive T? Is this normal and I have a weaker left ear? Does this ever improve?
I don't know what you've been reading but LLLT is to help regenerate hair-cells (hearing loss) and not resolve T. But the theory goes if you can restore some hearing then you may reduce T. I find that most ppl who say it does not work have not done the treatment and are just skeptics reading...
Has T ever been linked to chemical or hormonal imbalances? I understand its linked to depression but Im sure it causes other problems but Ive never read anywhere about it. It makes sense when you consider ppl claiming certain foods and meds causes a change in their T, good or bad. L
@attheedgeofscience
I would reply to you privately but can not.
I've read Steve's opinion on the subject.
I've made plenty of enemies but Churchill would also tell us to pick and choose our battles wisely.
I understand you're trying to help others by warning them about TRT. There's...
Every things a money game, from the moment your born to the time they put us in the dirt. People do have to find a balance on how to make a living and doing something the at least moderately like doing.
@attheedgeofscience
I don't understand your focus on anti-TRT? I've read your journal about STEM-CELL and LLLT and really appreciate the info you've provided. I'm even interested enough to consider those types of therapies bc of you but I find you to be so helpful and aggravating at the same...
@MattK
Referencing the recent incident involving someone who decided to end their own life is more complex than just saying he did it bc of T. Yes he had T but he also had severe ear pain and several unsuccessful related surgeries. His health was a compounded issue and thats extremely...
@MattK You completely missed the point. I understand yours but there's been people with mild to severe T for centuries that have lived and survived for decades. The only difference is now we have this lovely thing called the internet that is the worlds largest collection of information and at...
IMO plugs cause ears to become more reactive. The brain doesnt know your plugging your ears but instead justvturns up the gain. Do it over and over again and it starts to become more sensative to volume changes.
Hey buddy.
You will be fine. The H is a bitch but it will take time to get better. ALA (alpha lipoic acid) 200mg and NAC 600mg daily w an emergenC drink have helped soften my tones and improved my H.
No. The T spikes really loudly and then goes back down after about 15 minutes aftr I take them out. Some ppl experience this type of temporary spike from plugs.
