do you use headphones? i have all the same symptoms and non symptoms as you. I am pretty sure it was from ear buds but the good news is that it went almost completely away as of now.... the bad news is that i can never use those buds again. my GP was confident it would go away.

This DID happen to me when i had a spike and it was LOUD at night. i would dream there was a fire alarm going off. Other times it just woke me up very early and made it impossible to fall asleep again.

woke up with mine one day after a lame retirement party. not sure why. my suspicion is that i was previously using in ear headphones too loud trying to drown out the noise and shitty music at the gym a few months prior. i can’t figure why a retirement party was what broke the camels back.

i think headphones caused mine. i used them at the gym to focus on not ending my life on the treadmill. i dont use them anymore - the headphones or the treadmill.

anyone who doesn't use earplugs, or abuses their ears after having tinnitus, doesn't have tinnitus bad enough to understand the implied threat of it getting worse. Man, I didn't have it that long, and I hope it never comes back. It was going to take a lot of help to get used to that noise till...

i had weird dreams - prob cause my t was going nuts. maybe while ur asleep the t inspires the weird dreams. one time i was dreaming of a fire alarm that wouldn't shut off - it was my t entering my dream.

Yours sounds a bit different. generally when i wake up it's there and goes away after i get up and start my day. before bed i don't notice anything and nothing happens again till i open my eyes next morning. Oddly enough, this morning it's quieter - not sure why. maybe cause my hubby wailed...

Ya i can sleep through it. it's not crazy loud but just louder than during the day. i would say when i wake up for work it's going...so maybe 5-6 am. if it's just an hour or two nap it usually doesn't happen. it used to wake me up at 4am when it was louder and more severe and it would keep me up...

My tinnitus (prob headphone use induced) used to be severe then simmered down a lot to the point that I never notice it in waking hours and I can sleep now at night. But I still get ringing in the morning much milder than before of course but just wondering if anyone experienced this going...

i just got married too!!! i brought plugs and totally forgot to wear them. i even had my hair done in such a way where they would be hard to see even though they are already discreet. anyway i didn't get a spike thankfully - i was lucky though - be sure to protect your ears!! enjoy every minute...

yes you can have many tinnitus tones - i did at the worst of it. some of it can even oscillate louder and quieter over and over while others are just a tone all at the same time

yes i do. as i get older it gets worse. true that i pay way more attention to head noise than ever before but it's prob back to normal now (i think?). like you said though every little sound i hear i question it, if it's real, and where it's coming from - unlike before

idk how loud it is for you but i have an aromatherapy diffuser that got me through a spike when trying to sleep. it would be pretty loud for me when i tried to sleep but the diffuser somehow masked it without making too much noise itself.

you are going to be met with many ppl who don't understand - when i hear myself saying what it's like to people i hear a huge discrepancy myself of how it feels and how i'm describing it feels cause words just don't cut it. that's why you have us here. we get it only because we got it as well...

we need a specialist who not only knows how ears relay sound to the brain but how the brain transmits sound to our ears!!! i have also tried using an aromatherapy diffuser in my room at night btw. it makes the room smell nice and the noise distracts from T without keeping me awake.

generally when i'm in the moment orf being stressed it gets worse. once i calm down it's ok. check your blood pressure when it's worse maybe that has something to do with it or perhaps another trigger? alcohol? intense activity? a medication?

when i first had it and couldn't find out why i asked the doc for anti anxiety pills just to calm my nerves. that clonozepam also worked to minimize the sound and even stopped mine for a bit but handle with care - there's lots of posts on here about other side effects. talk your doctor.

idk how old you are or how long u been dating ur bf but uhmmmm ... dump him. before i married my hubby he was the only reason i didn't lose my my sh*t with tinnitus. you will need a more solid support system than that. as far as your T, i had this approximate issue when i had my neck propped...

if this is your first shot at T then i think you will be ok. protect your ears around loud events. you know how to have safe sex? now you have to have safe sound - put your ear condoms on (plugs) and be kind to your ears -- you are young, your onset is néw -- lots of time for improvement. yours...

i think living in a city helps with masking - we have a city house and a cottage and the cottage makes it more apparent . unless u have a very sensitive case the city should not increase severity.

mine went away. i think ive always had head noise but man it was disturbingly loud for about a month. it's back to normal now but i pay attn to it more now to check improvement or worsening of it. so far so good

ok im a hard core sleeper and i can sleep for 10h if needed. i think ur sleep disturbance is anxiety over the T not the T itself. here's why. When i got it, it lasted 3 weeks or more and was very noticeable especially at night. but i thought it was just my ETD so i slept like a baby believing...

not a fountain but i do own a diffusér and it helped me when my head was a tea kettle at night. i think ponds and running water are excellent for T because when i had it i remember wishing we had a pond outside the bedroom window.

i had a morse code at one point. it started as a high loud whistle then to morse code then back to kettle sounds and back to morse code for a bit but has since gone away . its prob still there somewhere but at the moment it isn't apparent.

this isn't for work but more for social situations and curiosity. Id feel a little awkward carrying around a dB reader, plus i prob wouldn't remember to. Last night i was in a resto and i think it was exceptionally loud so i popped in my earplugs. Sometimes i'm just curious how loud it really is.

What apps do you use and like on iphone that measure noise levels well and accurately? I just downloaded 3 apps and they all have different measurements from 20-45 dB for my very quiet bedroom right now lol.
