Lenire and Dr. Shore's device are two totally different treatments. The studies were done very differently as well.

Although you only have to read through the hundreds of success stories on here to see that hyperacusis symptoms typically reduce or disappear around the 12-24 month stage - usually without using Lenire. Potentially placebo.

Do we know how Lenire did theirs? Because it's a non invasive device that interfaces with the user in a similar way (even though Lenire seems to suck). Maybe they'll use Lenire as an outline on how to get approval.

Most Lenire reviews I can find that are not Neuromod-sponsored are negative, but that might be because people with negative results want to vent their anger at spending $4,500.

Lenire is not based on University of Minnesota's trials. Lenire used to be called MuteButton and it came to be long before Hubert Lim started his University of Minnesota work with his device (that never came to fruition because he sold his soul to Lenire).

I think the reason some members think Auricle is going to go tits up is the very loose parallels they are drawing with Lenire. Look at things on individual merit.

Dr. Shore’s was a double blind, placebo controlled study - the gold standard. Neuromod’s Lenire was not. Dr. Shore had NIH funding and a diverse study group. As Lenire was approved, there is no reason not to approve Auricle - a clearly superior device to Lenire and a superior study to Lenire.

I think Tinnitus Hub's "Here's Why the Jury's Still Out on Lenire" article suggests that as well.

I'm not surprised there haven't been any responses to this. He said trip reports are incoming in a few months, he supposes. It hasn't been that long, yet. Very risky chance unless you don't mind throwing away $5000 for something that's highly unlikely to lower tinnitus and could make it worse.

My guess is that it will cost around what Lenire does. Good on you for saving that much for it, though!
