    4 Months In...

Hi everyone. I took a break from daily activity on the site so I could start to focus on other things besides my T. I realized that today that it's 4 months since my tinnitus started. For some reference, I developed T only in my right ear, most likely from a loud basement party where I was...

Using a Hairdryer Lowered My Tinnitus Temporarily. Huh?

I'll be more careful from now on, definitely! And I'll be hopping on OW more frequently soon. I'm pretty absorbed in Legion right now :p

    I've Beaten My Tinnitus

Does anyone know if it's possible to achieve the same treatment another way? With an app or combination of white noise machines? I don't really have $3k to drop on it unfortunately :/

Using a Hairdryer Lowered My Tinnitus Temporarily. Huh?

@gotyoubynuts and @JasonP : Ah ok. Sorry for the newbie post then! Still pretty new to this and latching on to anything that might be a sign of it getting better :/

    More Than Annoyed by Tinnitus

I'm sorry you're having these issues recently :(. Have you had an MRI, just to rule out anything serious? It might just help to give you some more peace of mind.

Using a Hairdryer Lowered My Tinnitus Temporarily. Huh?

Pretty much what it says in the title. I'm coming up on 7 weeks with unilateral noise-induced T in my right ear. It's mostly a high pitched ringing, that occasionally changes to a hissing or old CRT TV sound after I wake up in the morning. Something I noticed today was that after using a...

July 10 — Tinnitus Came Back / As of September 3, Tinnitus Again Almost 90% Gone

Ginkgold is the same as Tebonin, it's just made in the US. Plus it's a lot cheaper. I want to try it out myself, but I need to speak to a pharmacist first to see if it would have any bad interactions with my Effexor.

July 10 — Tinnitus Came Back / As of September 3, Tinnitus Again Almost 90% Gone

That's awesome! So happy that you're recovering again!! I've been thinking about buying Ginkgold (the American version of Tebonin. It has all the same ingredients as the German one). I'm a little concerned about the interaction it may have with my SNRI. I've been taking Effexor XR for Anxiety &...

Sweet! Tinnitus Has Gradually Eased Off

Congratulations! Do you remember how long you've had it/what the cause was? I'm at 6 weeks today with noise-induced in my right ear only, and hoping for it to go.

Tinnitus Is Getting Quieter in the Morning

@Vinnitus So weird, I was literally JUST reading your success story, as I was looking for people with noise induced T & H. It's good to know that I shouldn't abandon hope yet. Is it normal with noise-induced T to have the clicking & pressure feelings when you swallow? I always thought that was...

Tinnitus Spike After It Seemed to Be Getting Better

@erik Good to know, thank you. It's a little disappointing, since it was a lot quieter this morning, I was hoping it might have been going away.

Thank you! Good to hear from you again :) Hope everything is going well for you after the loud sneeze incident!

Tinnitus Spike After It Seemed to Be Getting Better

Hi again everyone. I'm a few days past the 1 month mark of what I assume is noise-induced T and H. This morning, I woke up and realized that my T had decreased substantially. I could still hear it in a quiet room, but being outside just walking my dog almost completely masked it. It stayed...

Tinnitus Is Getting Quieter in the Morning

Hi everyone. It's been a month now since I developed (what I assume) is noise-induced T in my right ear, along with some Hyperacusis and slight distorted hearing in small rooms. (I know, it sounds weird). Anyway, I've just been trying to ignore it and hope that it goes away. I can usually get...

    1 Month with Noise-Induced Tinnitus

@heartohelp Thank you so much for this. It's incredible advice, and very sobering to see my same thought processes being shared by someone else.

    Loud Sneezes

@Fangen It's understandable to be worried about any sudden change in your tinnitus. We're all here because we're a bit high strung :p. I feel confident that it will settle down when you're a little less anxious or stressed out. Increases blood pressure can make your tinnitus spike as well. I...

    Loud Sneezes

Hi Fangen! I can relate with this, as I have a few co-workers that talk loud, sneeze, or cough extremely loud as well. You said that you haven't had your tinnitus react to loud noises before. Did the noise perhaps startle you? Stress and anxiety can absolutely cause tinnitus to spike, or even...

    1 Month with Noise-Induced Tinnitus

@Jamie m I'm really glad you're coping well! I'm definitely an impatient person, and not seeing much improvement over the course of a month has me down. It's good to know that it CAN get better though. @heartohelp Thank you for all the information! The noise changing to a slightly more static...

    1 Month with Noise-Induced Tinnitus

Hey everyone. Checking in at the 1 month mark with T in my right ear. As a quick recap, I developed T and H in my right ear after attending a loud party in a basement bar. I've seen my GP, an ENT, and had a hearing test done (hearing test came back fine). The sound is a pretty typical high...

Earplugs: Will They Help or Hurt My Recovery?

Thank you for all the replies everyone! So the general consensus is to just have them handy while they still might heal over the next however-many months. How long does Hyperacusis generally take to clear up after noise exposure? I can tell it's been getting a little better. Also, I seem to...

Earplugs: Will They Help or Hurt My Recovery?

Hi all. As a quick overview, A little over 3 weeks ago, I developed Tinnitus, Hyperacusis, and a crackling when I swallow in my right ear after attending a loud dance party. I've gone to my GP, ENT, and Audiologist, and had a hearing test done that all said my hearing was fine (up to 8,000hz)...

3 Weeks In and Feeling Hopeless

Thank you both for the welcome and responses. GregCA, I've had a GP and ENT both look at it, and they didn't send me for any tests, or suggest that it's possible that it might be objective. Do you think I should go back and specifically ask for tests? I guess my assumption is that it's noise...

3 Weeks In and Feeling Hopeless

Hi all. I've been browsing this site for the last few weeks and figured I might as well join up. I'm a 28/m, and I have a history of Generalized Anxiety Disorder & some Depression. For the last 6 years, I was completely GAD & Depression free. That all changed after a night out at a dance party...
