    Help, Feeling Like a Failure

Also going to begin counseling again. Tbh even before my T started I noticed some issues, I think the T just made them more prominent I've made progress already, even this this short a time, so I shouldn't be so down on myself just because I had a bad morning

    Help, Feeling Like a Failure

Thanks everyone I'm feeling better I talked to my GP he thinks I have a touch of depression, so we're going to try Remeron to help with that and with sleep, I know it helped many of you Also think I overreacted this morning, thinking the Ambien induced grogginess was sleep deprivation. As the...

    Help, Feeling Like a Failure

I've done my best to be positive. I was going to be one of those people who lives with tinnitus with no issue. After 2.5 weeks there are times where I don't even hear my mild to moderate tinnitus for hours. And it usually doesn't bother me when I do. But I've had insomnia, and that's been...

Advice on Dealing with Tinnitus and Insomnia?

Ambien has essentially resolved the issue. Might have to cut back as it makes me sleepy in the AM. Also going to try CBD oil since others say it works.

Advice on Dealing with Tinnitus and Insomnia?

I'm back:) I can often tune out the tinnitus during the day. But since it started 2 weeks ago I've had varying levels of insomnia. Last night was really bad. I've tried melatonin no luck. Benadryl helps but not always. Part of the problem is that I'm on a prednisone taper and it makes me...

Anyone Else Notice High Pitched Sounds When Driving?

Even before tinnitus I would notice some high pitched sounds when driving my Prius. Since tinnitus, or spike in my preexisting very mild tinnitus, these high pitched sounds seem louder, different from my tinnitus. Anyone else had this experience?

Feeling Anxious — Could Use Some Encouragement

Saw my PCP yesterday, got steroids (which so far haven't helped). Was feeling pretty good despite the fact that he didn't seem hopeful and didn't give me any sleep aids. Bad night of sleep last night and my tinnitus wasn't even that bad. Feeling anxious now, irrational worries. And I've been...

Can Mild to Moderate Tinnitus Disrupt Sleep?

A week and half. Might be allergies or infection. The doctor wants to try steroids and see if that helps. Could also be my tooth grinding, trying to relax my jaw I have a sound machine that makes an "Everglades" noise with crickets that's helpful at night. Also trying to watch my sleep...

Ever Find It's Hard to Tell Your Tinnitus Apart from Background Noise?

My high pitched tinnitus is similar to sounds from electronics, office equipment, and some of my car sounds that I'm not always sure what I'm hearing. Anyone else have that same experience?

Can Mild to Moderate Tinnitus Disrupt Sleep?

And thanks too, this has been a more difficult day, work stress exacerbated my T and my sense of calm broke down. Here I thought I was habituating, LOL after a week and a half. For the first time I had to take a half Xanax But these new sounds may help address the sleep issue which is the...

Are These the 3 Basic Principles of Dealing with Tinnitus?

Good point I guess my concern is that I stay functional, and not get too tired because of insomnia. Am going to discuss this with the doc when I see him tomorrow. Tbh if the insomnia or the fatigue associated with the insomnia could resolve it would solve the majority of the problems I have

Are These the 3 Basic Principles of Dealing with Tinnitus?

I sleep with some white noise but the masking is incomplete. Perhaps I need a different sound. Agree that masking sounds can themselves cause sleeplessness too, if too loud or not a good fit Hope it doesn't take 4-5 months, I'm pretty damn tired and it's only been a week and a half

Are These the 3 Basic Principles of Dealing with Tinnitus?

    1. Stay calm, don't let it panic you even when loud 2. Don't focus on it, if possible 3. Continue on with your life Fair summary? It's what I've been trying to do, though not focusing is sometimes difficult. I am continuing on with my life and it doesn't cause much anxiety anymore

    The Positivity Thread

Had a nice walk this evening, with the traffic and background noise I was able to ignore Jerry (what I've taken to calling my T) though his humming and whistling were present they didn't detract from the beauty My sense of smell seemed to be enhanced, wonder if it was the rain or the improvement...

Hi I'm Tom, I Have Had Tinnitus with Insomnia for a Week

Started exactly a week ago, think it's related to my allergies Used to have a low hum now it's more of a moderate ring/squeal I'm adapting as best I can and most of the time I'm no longer aware of it But at night it's louder and more noticeable, and I've gotten little sleep over the last week...
