the specialist was being honest with you. I am not a doctor but there might be some tricks to do with the acoustic trauma if reacted soon enough. With T in generally there´s very little the docs can do. Some might disagree. Some take pills, go to trial treatmens... what you need to do is give it...

Many ENT´s here where i live have said to me chronic T isnt in the ear anymore. You can cut nerves, cut the whole inner ear away.... no one can promise you the cure. And when you go 100% deaf after those operations and the T keeps on going... I think tinnitus is here to stay.
