Noticing a Trend in My Habituation...

I feel the same about my tinnitus... I'm more than 6 months in and everytime I think "wow I don't hear my tinnitus in that almost silent place, it must have went down" it obsiously didn't. And the same goes for the opposite : "woah, my tinnitus is so strong, how the fuck am I supposed to live...

AM-101 Clinical Trial — Participants Updates and Discussion

Does someones knows how do they measure T loudness for TACTT3 ? Only through participants reports ? Or do they still do the loudness matching test / minimum noise masking level ? (as I read in some other post for TACTT2).

AM-101 Clinical Trial — Participants Updates and Discussion

The ENT responsible for the trial at my end told me that you don't have to fill the questionary every day. She told me that I would have to do it like a week or two before follow-up meetings. There may be a realtion between your T and your blood pressure in your case. I don't think that's a...

    New to This--Need Help

Welcome on TT, At onset the T can be unstable, since yours is new you still have a chance for it to lower with time. Even if it does not, most people will habituate to their T, but this takes time (several months at least). You could try some supplements as well (Magnesium, Vitamin B12, NAC...

AM-101 Clinical Trial — Participants Updates and Discussion

You are partly right. Most countries in Europe (if not all) accept tinnitus up to 6 month old, but in some other countries the trial is limited to 3 months old tinnitus. Here's the link for UK : http://www.tinnitus-study.info/uk-the-study

AM-101 Clinical Trial — Participants Updates and Discussion

I think it's because it is harder to measure the lowering of the T when it fluctuates. And because it's a clinical trial, what matters is not to cure everyone but to measure if the drug is effective or not. I believe that if the drug was out, you would have had access to it.

Maybe a few times a week, I'm running low on pills ! Taking them on a daily basis made them way less efficient also. Concerning AM-101, I've had an encounter with an ENT (no phone call). She wanted to make sure my T was due to a trauma (acoustic, ear infection, ...) and which meds I'm using (as...

Information from Auris Medical on AM-111

I've read that AM-111 is being tested following acute acoustic trauma or sudden deafness within 48 hours from onset. I guess everyone here is far from that timeframe ! Also it only works for people with severe hearing loss (others seems to have recovered on their own). Whatever, that's really...

Retigabine (Trobalt, Potiga) — General Discussion

I think we would need more data on this, How many epileptic patients has a neurologist ? How many patients among these are taking trobalt ? Then again, only one in five of those is supposed to have tinnitus. Mild ? Moderate ? Loud ? Some of them who are having it mild to moderate could not...

How can you guys be so pessimistic ? Maybe I will be too after so many years of T  Medicine isn't something straight but there are people working in order that we get better. I wish I had numbers which would say how much is being spent on research today compared to 10 years ago. I...

AM-101 Clinical Trial — Participants Updates and Discussion

There's absolutely no evidence that participating in the trial and receiving the actual drug will guarantee your tinnitus to stay low over the years. The best it could do is lower your tinnitus (maybe you could get rid of it, who knows). The only way to prevent your tinnitus to get worse is to...

    Brivaracetam — KV3.1 Modulator

This is not a drug intended for tinnitus. This one is close to Keppra which didn't helped Tinnitus sufferers but helped hyperacusis. The interesting point is that it is more potent than Keppra and has way less secondary effects than trobalt. So I would say it's worth a shot.

Flying and Inner Ear Barotrauma? — Screeching Tinnitus + Hearing Loss after Flight

Hello Lauren, You may indeed suffer from middle ear barotrauma (which usually cause ear pain but not in all cases). Most middle ear barotrauma heal naturally without the need of meds. However, the vertigos and the hearing loss could also indicate an inner ear barotrauma (a small one maybe...

Hello Asvalian, You seem to be doing pretty good despite your "recent" T Concerning hearing loss, the human ear is able to hear frequencies above 8khz, but unfortunately most ENTs won't mesure hearing loss above 8khz (which could also lead to tinnitus). I would also second nucleo to take...

New Member — Life Story — Theory — Nerve Fibers & Tinnitus/Hearing Loss — Normal Audiogram?

I had troubles equalizing pressure in my ears and I really likely overdid the Valsalva maneuver. What I did was like a small blast in the inner ear. (I contracted a cold at the end of the day as well, which would explain the troubles to equalize) The tinnitus came on the next day. PS : I'll...
