    Terrified, Despondent...

Thank you. Been having a few "good days" but more "not so good days." I am trying not to call them bad days...trying to be positive and really enjoy the few good days where things are quiet enough I can deal with it. Of course- I developed this random pain in my side yesterday- and am trying...

I Thought It Was Going Away...

I know how you feel. On good days when it's relatively quiet- I think "oh could this be it, is it fading on it's own...please please please" and then the next day I get up and it's clanging so loudly I'm shaking and SO disappointed. I try to think positive- like "Thank God for the good days"...

Anyone Else Have Ultra-High Frequency Tinnitus?

Mine is very high pitched pulsitile. On good days, it's like faint crickets I can live with. On bad days, like today, it's extremely hard to ignore, mask, or not react to.

    Neuromonics

Sooo...very late to this thread. I have been trying to find something to match my frequency with no luck, but I have no idea how to figure out what my frequency is. I do have the chart here from my recent hearing test that shows where the high-frequency hearing loss lands (red=right...

Does Lack of Sleep Make Your Ringing Louder?

Lack of sleep sure aggravates it for me. I started on Celexa about 2 weeks ago, and was taking it at night. After about a week and a half I made the connection that I had not been having sleep issues until AFTER I started taking the Celexa. I could get to sleep for about 4 hours, but then the...

    Horrible Morning Anxiety

Thank you. Feeling pretty dreadful physically today after a couple of decent days. It may be the Citalopram...I've only been on it a week at 10mg to onboard. last night was the night to up it to 20mg. Am told it takes a while to build up and have an effect. I used to love bedtime. Now I dread it.

    Horrible Morning Anxiety

I've been stuck in a vicious cycle. Just to mention I am about 4 weeks in with T due to high freq. hearing loss. When I first get to bed I can usually fall asleep fairly easily. I have been using white noise, sound therapy, headphones, etc. I sleep for about 4 hours and invariably wake up...

I agree. I too can manipulate the sound level at times with head position.

    Terrified, Despondent...

It's odd how we all perceive the sounds and what troubles us and what we can live with. In my case when it does quiet down it sounds like faint high pitched crickets which I can live with. But at night it's usually a pulsing loud high frequency sound that's nothing like crickets.

    Terrified, Despondent...

Thank you Michael. My primary care doctor did tell me you have to live with it you can either fight it or accept it. She said it's so coldly and matter-of-factly I was pretty distraught. She did give me antidepressant which I'm in the process of onboarding it's only been a week but I really...

    Terrified, Despondent...

went to my appointment yesterday at Mass Eye and Ear. Basically was told high freq. hearing loss im right ear so brain causing the sounds. also...was told if I had gotten there sooner than 4 wks after onset (and it's exactly 4 wks) they could have started steroid therapy which might have helped...

    Terrified, Despondent...

lisa49, same here went to the ER about 5 days in, thought I was having a stroke but it was just a panic attack as it turns out. They also gave me a CT scan. I have been taking the supplements you mention as well can't hurt right? I actually had a fairly decent day today where the volume was...

    Terrified, Despondent...

Thanks for the replies. I too have a job that tends to be high stress. I am taking a bit of time off because I am useless right now. I appreciate the support so much. I've been trying to find people who know about the anxiety and panic, it helps to know I am not alone. we're due for a...

    Terrified, Despondent...

New here but have been reading posts. Developed T out of the blue about 4 weeks now. First couple of weeks I tried to stay positive and think it was temporary. Week 3 I was full-on anxiety panic mode. Been to see my primary who looked in my ears ask me some questions and said I had to learn to...
