I have a clicking noise in my right ear that sounds like typewriter keys. It is not typewriter tinnitus. It’s very intermittent and if I sleep on that ear it can worsen.

My ear rings like a subwoofer when I talk sometimes. Stapedial Myoclonus is not as bad as T bud it does get annoying sometimes.

For the most part. It does seem to come back at night while I sleep though. I can feel it when I get up to go to the bathroom. When I get up in the morning I'm thankful that it's gone.

My Boss there is deaf in one ear from a real live acoustic neuroma. Middle ear myoclonus on steroids from the way she describes it.

I also get a vibrating sound, usually before going to sleep, but it is only in my right ear. I feel as though it's a muscle vibrating somewhere near there, and it only happens if I don't 100% relax my facial and neck muscles.

I really don't want to try botox, it's very expensive, and you have to inject it every 5 months. I want to try and stop the myoclonus with meds. It was medically induced, so I don't have organic damage of the CNS. I was really hoping that the Trileptal wasn't ototoxic... Thank you for the reply.

So sorry to hear that. How loud is your tinnitus? Did the ear muscle vibrating get resolved? Did you have clicking or thumping? Was the surgery done with a laser or a blade? I have MEM but also tinnitus. I'm scared to do the surgery in case my tinnitus worsens or I develop hyperacusis.

Thankfully my tinnitus isn't affected by foods however I try to stay away from crunchy foods like Cheetos since it sometimes it makes my myoclonus act up.

It's probably Tensor Tympani Syndrome. You can probably make it happen at will (Not permanently) by yawning too hard. Middle ear Myoclonus is more of a popping sound.
