    TRT UK

Are you aware of a list of TRT (or similar counseling based therapy) practitioners in the UK. I've found it hard to find an up to date list by searching and I'm nowhere near London. Many thanks.

People With Tinnitus at a Young Age

This forum can drag you down quicker than it can pick you up. My advice is to get the information that you need from it and try to move on slowly by leaving negative places like this behind. Life isn't perfect but you have to try to spin it as positively as you can and the despair that lives on...

How Do I Cope When I Work in Silence?

It must be difficult working in such quiet conditions. Have you looked into getting proper maskers fitted and running them while at work?

    Could I Have Meniere's?

You come out with some crazy nonsense. The dizziness certainly sounds anxiety related. I get it too from time to time and have done for a while. Sadly I have no solutions but it's not a big problem.

How Loud Is Your White Noise?

70dB is said to be the sound of a "normal" conversation i.e. not too loud. I wouldn't use them all day every day though.

    Withdrawal From Zoloft

It's the thinking too much that makes us sad. If we could break the negative thought process we would free ourselves of depression, regardless of how many problems we had. Easier said than done though.

    Withdrawal From Zoloft

@Lisa Robinson Not personally but it is listed as a common symptom of anxiety. Most common for me is palpitations followed by some level of insomnia. I suppose it affects everyone differently but pins and needles certainly seems likely to be a physical consequence of anxiety. Are you feeling no...

    Firecrackers, Fireworks & Tinnitus

I would not suggest you take anything. There is nothing out there that can truly help, not least of all cortisone. Try to avoid any uncomfortably loud noise in the future and use earplugs when necessary. Your current spike should settle down shortly but i wouldn't worry about it.

    Withdrawal From Zoloft

@Lisa Robinson Maybe it's worth trying more meds. It's so difficult to know what to do for the best. Do you know what your doctor wants you to try next? I would suggest you give it a couple more weeks, in which time you will hopefully be making some improvement. Try to keep active and busy as...

    Withdrawal From Zoloft

It is unlikely that you have MS but it is a natural thought for people with GAD (worst case scenario thinking and all that.) In fact I remember having the very same thoughts when my GAD first became a problem. If you spend too much time Googling things you quickly have all of the worse diseases...

    New Tinnitus Member

No, I don't disagree. I'm just saying that there is no need to bring it forward when the date is already the 7th Jan. I think that is sufficiently quick. As you rightly point out though, it is very unlikely they will be able to do anything unless there is a physical cause i.e. wax buildup etc.

    New Tinnitus Member

Unfortunately they will be unable to do anything. The tinnitus may reduce in time by itself but a specialist will have no answers. There are prescription medicines available. Benzos for short term use or antidepressants. You will need to discuss this with a doctor. Definitely not. Do not waste...

    Traveling with Tinnitus

@meeruf I know what you mean. Tinnitus can stop us doing many of the things we once took for granted. Just making an hour long car journey can give me a flareup at times. I think it's important to put it into context and understand that these flareups are only temporary and permanent damage is...

    Zoloft

Stick with them for a while. If they have made tinnitus any worse it is like to settle upon discontinuation of the drug. It is common for tinnitus to become worse at the start of treatment however and any side effects from Zoloft usually settle within a month. It's early days for you on the...

    Zoloft

It's not common for Zoloft to make tinnitus worse. Not permanently at least though it may cause a flare up for a few weeks before settling back down. The unfortunate thing about tinnitus us it can change over time, for better or for worse, regardless of what you do. I have never taken any...

Great — Now I Have TMJ

@mamag I wouldn't rule out the pain being from noise though. Around October last year I went to a loud concert and it took me around 4 months to recover fully from the pain. I still get mini flareups if I go to see a loud film or loud pub but nothing like that. Yours could well be TMJ, but if...

@Kevin1153 Tinnitus will either disappear for no reason or continue. It is an unpredictable beast. Nothing you can do will really help you and sound therapy is certainly no cure. Could Mold/Fungi Cause Ear Infections?

@adrian_london I don't think so. The fullness feeling is typical in people suffering with tinnitus but I can't see mould being the cause. Having said that it can be very bad for the lungs so it's definitely sensible to get rid of anything mouldy.

Hearing Recovery Cases. Are There Any?

No I don't think so. Sadly the pain and fullness are typical in people with tinnitus. I experience it regularly and agree that the pain can be mistaken for a tooth pain. N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)

NAC is no miracle cure that will protect your ears. It may help but has never really been proven. There is also no consensus on dosage however it seems most people take 600mgs 3 times per day, evenly spaced out. It is also pointless to just megadose for one day. Withdrawal From Zoloft

@Lisa Robinson Yes, it could purely be the anxiety and nothing to do with the withdrawal. It's very hard to say. Do you think you gave the Zoloft long enough? Withdrawal From Zoloft

Quitting cold turkey can be pretty brutal. It is suggested you come off over a 3 week period which you really should have done. Losing It After a While

It’s definitely nothing to do with THC. That is usually only active for a short time and may remain in your system to some degree for a couple of weeks or so. I Have Questions and Scared...

@Jimineze That is a very broad question. I think it's for a doctor to look into in a lot more detail. @sandra72 It's probably from the earplugs themselves. I used to get that feeling when I was an earplug regular. Now I don't think I've worn them all year. I think you should still go. Take the plugs and if it's loud then use them. If it's not then don't. The fullness will subside over time...
