Outdoor Festivals — Are Sounds Less Dangerous?

I've been to plenty of festivals and have been fine. They're probably the best way to enjoy music as a T sufferer, as you can always step back from the music. Obviously don't go too close to speakers etc and just be sensible.

Sorry to hear that. I've found to the contrary in clubs etc, people are usually very understanding. In fact, my friends remind me to put them in.

    Pressure In Ears

Haha, the doctor told me to take an aspirin and that it may go in a few weeks. TT is probably the best resource you will find. I'd forgotten this, but I also had little pinprick type pains. It was pretty unpleasant, but it gradually eased off. I did hyperbaric oxygen therapy as well, which may...

    Pressure In Ears

Hi mate, I have tinnitus from club damage too. It took a good 4 months, possibly more to get rid of it. I also had hypercusis for about the same period of time. I drank a lot of chamomile tea and tried to eat a non-inflammatory diet. No idea if it actually helped, but it's not a bad thing to do...

MDMA (a Component of Ecstacy) Potential for the Treatment of Tinnitus

It's the bliss of being able to put your head to the pillow for 1 maybe 2 nights and hearing nothing but the rustle of your bedsheets. My head feels balanced, the right feels like the left again, I can be normal for a little while. It's good to have a little control again.

    Goodbye Social Life

I'd just like to echo my agreement here. I've been back out going to pubs, bars and even clubbing. My rule of thumb is if I can't hear someone speaking to me when I'm facing them from a normal distance then the earplugs go in. Bars/pubs are for socialising, so if it's too loud to speak then it's...

What Decibel Levels Are Considered Safe?

On the contrary, stay in the city. It's the best distraction. I had been wearing earplugs on the tube, but have gradually stopped. I find in zone 3/4 where there is further to go the tubes get louder, Central is fine. Also check out if the window is open on the train, as it's a lot louder then.

Low frequency hearing loss - can this be caused by noise damage?

So I had my hearing tested recently and it appears I have mild low frequency hearing loss, the rest is pretty good. My tinnitus came about after clubbing, however I can only find mention of high frequency hearing loss from noise. Low frequency seems to come from fluid build up, menieres or...

Can Tinnitus Have an Effect on Audiogram Hearing Tests?

I have mild lower frequency hearing loss and my tinnitus is also around that range. My top end hearing is very good though. I feel it's plausible it could have masked the audiogram tones, but then maybe it's more because I want it to.
