    I Feel Beaten

@SilverSpiral It’s very strange isn’t it? Hard to explain too. Over the 3 years I’ve noticed mine usually happens when I’m sensitive to noise and very stressed or worried. It definitely diminishes when I have my T under control/my stress is low.

@Tweaker Yeah I saw that the other day. It’s in Aintree, I believe? Will definitely check it out, thank you.

That’s the horrible truth, isn’t it? When the system that works for you hits a bump, it feels like a mad dash to recover rationality and order...

    I Feel Beaten

@Ambassador before this spike my noises didn’t bother me 95% of the time, even when I had earplugs in when I was out, I would just listen past all of them and I was fine. Part of me is terrified that I have overprotected and that normal sounds will now make my T permanently worse. I don’t know...

    I Feel Beaten

I wouldn’t know where to find this. I’m from the UK and the only help I was ever given was a 5 minute ENT appointment a few months after I got T, who just told me to avoid louis noises and said it was a good idea to wear ear plugs when I went to bars, restaurants and things like that. Privately...

    I Feel Beaten

@Samantha R Some of the noises are only maskable in the shower, but when I’m in the shower my senestivity to noise means there’s a tinnitus-y echo which accompanies the running water. I do protect my ears. I have been avoiding loud noises since my spike, during which it has fluctuated anyway...

    I Feel Beaten

@Samantha R The spike was caused by a mixture of very limited loud noise exposure and mainly stress. I don’t feel like I can do it this time because the volume/intensity keeps getting turned up on my different noises. Any time it settles, something happens to crank it back up again. Trying to...

I need help desperately. But I’m worried that there is nobody out there who can help me.

    I Feel Beaten

I don’t say this lightly, I’m 3 and a half years into T now, I feel beaten. After my initial T inducing event in 2014 (stress and loud noise exposure) I managed to fight to get my life back, it took me the best part of a year, probably more. I don’t think I can do it this time. I’m struggling...

Advice Appreciated — Spike Fears, Lack of Sleep & Really Struggling

Hi all, I apologise if this is long, but I feel like I need to get all of this out. It's not often I post here, I think this is only my third time, as I try and use this as a last resort and stay away from places like this when I'm doing okay, no offense intended. I've had T for over 3 years...

Having a Bad Cold / Sinuses Full — My First Illness-Related Spike

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm coughing less and my nose isn't running anymore, but the top of my nose & forehead still feel full of pressure, so I assume that's why my ears are still full and loud. All I can do is wait it out... I read somewhere that the ears are the last part to go back to...

Having a Bad Cold / Sinuses Full — My First Illness-Related Spike

Hi all, If you look at my past history I only ever posted once, basically when I was venting and moaning! But now it's been over 2 years since I developed T and, for the last year or so, life has been good. I achieved almost complete habituation to the point the noises no longer bothered me and...

Hello! So I tried to stay away for as long as I could. It's been 5 months since my T started, it's been a struggle I must admit! In the 6 months previous to that I had a cancer scare that caused me no end of stress and on the night of celebrating the fact I didn't have cancer, I got T. Just my...
