I'm stressed out of my mind.

Pretty sure it's related to the fluid I have in my ear, this is the 3rd time this has happened in the past 5 months. Doctor couldn't see much of my eardrum though because of wax, so have to put drops in before flushing it out on Wednesday. But she doesn't want to give me steroids or antibiotics...

I think so, though his attitude wasn't all that great. Gave me medicine that started to help my ears pop. I also saw another dr and she was terrible.

Loud sound itself doesn't flare up my t, I'm worried about the descent because even before t I got crazy pain on descent in my ears. It takes me a day of ear popping(that happens on its own) to go back tonormal .

I've seen some people say it works and some say it doesn't. Really everyone's so different that for the most part you won't know unless you try.

Is the ringing the same pitch but it's just that since you can't hear due to the packing it seems louder?

But do songs use a lot offrequencies that could qualify into the "hidden" hearing loss category though? I always was under the impression that thet were higher than stuff in songs and the like...

It's not over till it's over! Stuff can still change after the packing comes out, and even then it can still take time!

Haven't been sleeping well at all. Can't take any antidepressants due to a recent surgery, nor did my doctor prescribe me sleeping aids. He was against the idea. He suggested melatonin, but I won't go shopping until this or next weekend. Problem with me is staying asleep not falling asleep.

The only things that stop the ringing are the valsalva maneuver and yawning, but that's not a long term solution

How do you know the meds are causing the t when it developed so long after?

It actually kind of helps for a few hours but then this slightly louder, higher pitch, consitent sound comes as a result. Have noticed it for a few days. Have been a bit too scared to continue sudafed after this sound comes. Am not sure if this means that my ringing is coming from congestion...

That's what I have been doing, to no cure. I'm not evn sure I can properly msk to habituate because it's usually small enough that i would have to strain to hear thr other sound

Doctor said it should go (this was about a month ago) but it hasn't yet. It has changed in pitch/consistency after I started taking sudafed (have stopped because of the change, currently taking zyrtec-d). It used to be soft/gone in the morning, but lately it's actually worse then or after a nap...

No change, except nowadays it is worse in the morning or after any nap and kind of dies of while I lay in bed/if I'm around the house it slowly gets soft (but not gone). :cry:

Just an update...Inspired by glynis I started taking two different decongestants and the stop and go ringing has been abating (also been putting a couple drops of mustard oil in my ear, not sure if it's doing anything but why not pull all the stops?) However what has replaced it is a constant...

Suffering.

When my mom puts in mustard oil drops instead of the stop and go ringing I regularly hear I hear this consrant high pitch noise (but that doesn't bother me as much as the actual ringing). I haven't been underwater so I can't give any experience there.

Your post gives me hope that tinnitus can indeed go away!
