    I am sure I read a peer reviewed journal that stated 10 mg had substantial benefit . I have definitely seen some improvement on that does level . Never heard about the diabetes side effect before.

    I have tried just about every treatment out there. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Stem Cells, many different sound therapies, and drugs. In the end improvement came when I had reason to be transferred to a semi rural area in the countryside, almost devoid of any sounds for about 18 months.

    I had Hyperacusis so badly I swear that I could hear every insect in a evening walk . Unlike yourself this condition then developed into T . My advice , total silence just protect your ears at all times. This will go away over time ,give your ears a chance to heal.
