Just curious what dose DXM were you taking? I have resorted to recreational use of it (robotripping), ~800mg is pretty much a dissociative bliss for me.

Tapering off currently, tinnitus is back, pitch perception normal, sound tolerance back to 0, distortions the same as they were pre Prednisone.

Prednisone isn't helping anymore and neither are the various vasodilators.

Tinnitus, hyperacusis, distortions etc were traded off for every single real sound being a tone lower. However, this has again corrected itself over the course of 24 hours, though my dysacusis (but weirdly not my tinnitus) is back.

So I'm currently on a long course/taper of Prednisone at 60 mg and it has made me worse again. Bilateral diplacusis with every single sound being a full tone flatter than it should be. It has eliminated a substantial amount of tinnitus but this is just BAD. I am tapering off now and going low...

My right ear was tinnitus free today but I'm still ravaged by dysacusis/distortions. God. I would rather have excruciating tinnitus than any level of auditory distortions.

Yeah I'm on steroids right now. I currently have an increase in tinnitus but a reduction of sound distortions somewhat which is a trade that's totally worth it because I'm more devastated by my auditory distortions than any level of tinnitus by a long shot.

I'm just going to hop on the Prednisone when I get it. I just simply don't care at this point. I will take antivirals too if I can convince my doctor to let me have them. But I've had enough of this suffering and I have all my affairs in order to die if I get worse.

This is the month im killing myself if i dont see improvement. I have my suicide kit ready for use and I have no regrets whatsoever.

If I can't get on antiviral, I'll just take the Prednisone. Besides, I can't be made any more or less hopeless than I already am and I have had my suicide planned out since the very beginning, which I'll do upon worsening.

Well I'm going to push my GP to give me a viral / antibody test. If that comes back clear (it shouldn't, but let's say it does), then I'll just take Prednisone.

I have noticed over extensive self experimentation that any type of red wine or blackberry wine will basically cure me 100% of my distortions, vertigo, noxacusis, even many tinnitus tones for a few hours outside the initial drunken-ness. It does not happen with any other type of alcohol...

Drinking copious amounts of alcohol completely cures my dysacusis and noxacusis at least. But it's not sustainable.

All I do is get by the day with copious amounts of substances I do not want to mention on this board. I had a 3 Tesla MRI as well as a temporal bone CT scan, but I'm not hopeful in the slightest. All of this done with the supervision of a neurotologist who knows his shit, mind you.

Well his main theory is that it's literally just progressive Cisplatin damage. It NEVER leaves the cochlea and literally physically destroys the organ.
