Fluctuating Cycling Tinnitus Still Driving Crazy

I got tinnitus in 2012 maybe after loud sound exposure. Just left ear. I eventually habituated but early 2015 after a medication overdose ( prescribed) I developed hyperacusis in both ears and head T. I seriously wanted to die. It was caused in part by magnesium depletion in my brain. After...

    Cycling Tinnitus, Anybody Else?

As one of the many things I dwell on about T, that fact it cycles drives me nuts. I saw anew audiologist recently and I did like him, plus he told he had T for 2 years and now he no longer hears it so I was prepared to listen to him. But he says it is impossible for T to change from day to day...

Hopefully a link to a site which talks about the involvement of a certain neck muscle in T. http://www.julstro.com/tinnitus-causes/

How Many Are Using Back to Silence with Success?

I'm really curious how many people are using the amazing Back to Silence technique who have had partial or total success? I'm one of life difficult cases so to hear success stories would help me a lot.

    My Thoughts Today

A life less lived that is mine. A life no longer loved that is mine. No longer viewed through rose coloured glasses but heard through distorted ears. No longer life's sweet symphony but hells' cacophany. A future I dare not contemplate but a past I dream of endlessly. No peace in silence. No...

    Sign Language

Well all my issues with hearing, T and H have made me want to learn sign language. I can hear just fine, but with earplugs I understand the deaf to a degree and I hate it. So I have this urge to try and do good one day and do sign language.

Myoclonus or TTTS, Can It Go Away?

I'm pretty sure I have myoclonus or TTTS, read all I can. It's in my good, non T ear. It comes and goes. It's worse in bed. I got it in February after an anaesthetic and heavy cold. Any ideas on diet changes that help, or treatment I can do. Has anybody had it go? I have H too right now and feel...

Is Tinnitus Getting Quieter a Good Sign?

Just trying to gain some hope. I'm just wondering if T getting quieter is a good sign. I've been in a big relapse from T gone most days to catastrophic T caused by many things but not noise. 7 months on its getting quieter but higher, is that a good sign?

Tinnitus Volume — Is It Relevant?

another weird question from me. I'm battling a major setback of T and H. My T has fallen into a pattern of hissing day which gets louder as the day goes on, followed by a very quiet scary high pitch ring day. I don't do anything different it just alternates, but I'm wondering if the quiet day is...

    High-Pitched Ring with Hyperacusis

This is along shot as I don't expect anybody really know. But my T changed dramatically with the onset of H from a lowish hiss to a very very high pitch. I'm wondering if as the H fades the pitch will go back to my old pitch. As h is usually an issue with high frequency sounds.

Quiet High-Pitched Tinnitus, Please Don't Hate Me

It's crazy I know but since getting a collapse of T and H this last 6 months I have been unable to cope with spikes etc. But now it's altered again, it is so very very high but quiet but still able to cut through most sounds. Trouble is as its quiet I should be able to cope but I'm not, I feel...

Anyone Feel Their Head Is Screaming at Bedtime?

This is weird I know but my head does weird things when its time to go to bed. It seems to literally scream at me, but it is not my normal T its something else. If I am able to get any decent sleep the scream will be gone eventually. I recently started melatonin just a quarter at 9pm and keep...

Anybody Trying to Cope with Tinnitus and Menopause?

I'm struggling with both new tinnitus and hyperacusis and the menopause which also followed months of stress and now depression. I guess I'm a text book case for tinnitus coming back bad but I'm so struggling. I cant control my anxiety if its menopause related or hormone related I'm on a crazy...

    Hyperacusis or Reactive Tinnitus?

I'm really not sure about my issue. I'm pretty sure partly it's hyperacusis but on the other hand it's the sudden increase in my T which makes me doubtful. My T can suddenly rise with certain sounds even before I've had time to think about it. But trouble is I'm also on alert knowing certain...

Struggling to Habituate for a Second Time

I had my T 3 years when it suddenly worsened and began spiking daily in March this year. Pretty sure I know why but that's no help. I'm now hit by hyperacusis and super reactivity of the T. I have no idea how long it took to habituate the first time, I can only see now looking back how far I had...

I'm Drowning, Yet Another Change and Spike

I cant cope anymore. I've had T over 3 years and habituated well, it did not spike, but told me when it was bedtime. This year I've had surgery (scare 1) all ok, a vitamin D reaction (huge anxiety) T started to spike and involve both ears. Hyperacusis returned. I've tried so hard, magnesium...

    Feeling Desperate

I first got T and H in 2012, I thought as a result 1 month prior of a West End musical. I was not stressed or unhappy at the time it hit. Now my audiologist says slight hearing loss does not cause T! I muddled on avoiding loud noise, not knowing what H was. To cut the story short I habituated...

What Do We Think Spike Really Is?

I'm confused. Ive had T over 3 years and it stayed in one ear and on a normal day did not spike exept when i was tired. I now have a new t after a lot of stress which is higher and often is in both ears and can spike at will, but I really cant figure out why a spike would happen, anybody got any...
