Airplane Noise Very Early in the Morning — Can You Get Used to It?

Not sure why, but I am noticing more the airplanes taking off at 4am from an airport about 10 miles away. They have been waking me up for the past week. Before that, I barely heard them. I would hear them occasionally during the day but not at 4am. Anyone here have this kind of experience? Do...

Watch "Derren Brown: Miracle" on Netflix

It is on Netflix. There will be a part where you might understand why I am suggesting you watch this. It was amazing. I can't say more because I don't want to give it away, but believe me, it is relevant to those on this forum. Be patient, it will take a while.

Has Anyone Found Lyrica (Pregabalin) to Cause Hearing Loss Leading to Tinnitus?

I've been thinking back before the time I was diagnosed with mild hearing loss. They say it could be age related, but I am "only" 48. I remember taking 75 mg a day of Lyrica. I've read the official side effects, but I cannot find hearing loss as one of them. However, it seems like there is a...

Does Mild Hearing Loss "Feel Like" Your Ears Are Clogged?

I've been told I have mild hearing loss in both ears, with the left one a bit worse. In addition to tinnitus, I feel like my left ear is a bit "clogged". Is this a symptom of hearing loss or something else? Just curious what other have experienced. Also, if it is not related to hearing loss...

    Talking to My Tinnitus

I have some experience with hypnosis, and when I was in that in-between state between waking up and fully awake this morning, I was able to calm the tinnitus down by focusing my energy on where the sound was coming from and imagining it getting smaller and saying "Thank you, but you are not...

    Kidneys/Hearing Loss/Tinnitus

Has anyone heard that problems with your kidneys can cause hearing loss and/or tinnitus? A friend of mine sent me some information from a Chinese medicine book stating this. I haven't heard any scientific evidence that this is the case.

Dreampad That Transmits Music Through Vibrations to Your Skull

Apparently, only you can hear the music and not someone in the same room. Good if you are using music and/or white noise to mask your tinnitus. http://recode.net/2014/06/11/to-sleep-perchance-to-dream-using-technology/ https://www.amazon.com/Dreampad-Advanced-Pillow-Medium-Support/dp/B01N6J7ND5/

    Out of curiosity...

Out of curiosity... I found since I was in high school that I pretty much had a hard time "deciphering" what others say with a not-so-loud level of background noise. For example, I can remember being in the lunchroom in high school and had a hard time making out what a person was saying...

How Would I Know if My Tinnitus is "Temporary"

My tinnitus came right around before I had a rather nasty cold. My ENT say _maybe_ that could be the cause of it and it may be temporary. Since then, my tinnitus has gone from a low, metallic grinding sound to a higher pitched hiss/buzz and at times it sounds like dry rice falling on a pane of...
