    Two Weeks Into TRT

Too early to tell if its working, but one of my hearing aids stopped working and I lost my "crutch" for three days, I noticed a difference, otherwise I would have said no change. It took about 2 days to get used to the sound generators.

    Coping With Tinnitus

T is on warp mode today, the worst I think it has ever been. I got a cold and hopefully it is attributed to that, its also storming out and my T has been up for the last 12 days for the most part. I read a couple things that has helped me: You have a choice about managing emotions, your...

    Toward Habituation?

Masking does not promote habituation directly. However, would masking assist in moving indirectly toward habituation by developing your "focused attention", then that skill can eventually be applied as "focused distraction" but ... then lead to habituation? I am suggesting this if your brain...

    Tinnitus Reduced By Busyness

How do you combat the T with busyness, when activity itself increases the T? Any ideas, struggling with this. I don't know how some of you can work with this. Kudos to you!

    Curiosity Question Regarding Random Tones

Just wondering if anyone has had random tones that might last perhaps up to 30 secs that start sharp and gradually fade to nothing on top of T and H. Physiologically any idea what might be occurring or why? I have had them on occasion, no associated pain and yesterday had 4 occurrences, strange.

If Your Tinnitus Was Softer, Could You Manage Better?

Just wondering how people feel about the volume of T.

    Tinnitus Expectations

Ok, don't react to tinnitus. Anxiety, stress, depression, lack of sleep will make it worse. Am I missing something? Is it reasonable to expect that T and H have a life of their own, unpredictable, so if it continues to get louder that is normal, just go with it?

    Diet Adjustment for Tinnitus

I used to pound the coffee into me, went cold turkey three weeks ago, had only two coffee since, I don't see any change in T, perhaps slightly worse. I have lost 22 lbs as I have no appetite, and so cautious about what I do eat, no salt, on salt reduction pills, and making sure I am hydrated...

For Those Who Have Habituated or Actively Trying to

My understanding of the concept is to push T into the background by retraining your brain thru exercising it by deliberately focusing on other sounds or senses. So in theory, or perhaps the practise of focusing on sound(s) for 5 mins, then 10 mins etc, gradually extending the focus time each day...

    Tinnitus Spikes Coping Skills

I need some tools and perhaps others have insight. What and HOW do you handle spikes, especially during the day. I am off work so I have the time to invest. How does one habituate, like I know you have to try to ignore it, but how do you take your focus off it. I know perhaps you can try reading...
