When I saw this slide from Otonomy's presentation regarding OTO-413 a few questions came to mind... On the first graph, it's impressive how there was a huge amount of synapses that were regenerated, but it doesn't seem to have a huge effect on practical hearing (displayed on the second graph)...

I hope that FX-322 can be approved for Expanded Access. This would be fantastic for all of us if it happens. Maybe this could be another question for Frequency Therapeutics during the the Tinnitus Talk Podcast.

Also @mrbrightside614, maybe something else you could ask is if someone like me with minor or mild hearing damage could expect a full, 100% recovery with the right amount of treatments? Perhaps the drug has a limit with its ability to regenerate.

Another question that could be asked during the interview is whether or not the newly formed hair cells and their synapses will be a strong as the ones we are born with? Or will we have to be forever cautious since they may be considerably more fragile? This is definitely a concern to me.

So I was scrolling through the thread on Dr. Mimbo Shim, and I saw that someone mentioned how Liberman and Kujawa applied for, and were approved for a synaptopathy drug patent. After looking into the patent, I saw that it was apparently abandoned today, 3/20/20? Perhaps I am misunderstanding...

These studies really need to allow participants to receive the real drug after getting placebo, and/or have the treatment injected into both ears. I'm sure they'd have many more participants, and therefore more data about their respective drugs.

2 years I can maybe live with, but more than that sounds pretty unbearable. I hope that the letter(s) to Dr. Woodcock may help to expedite the release FX-322. And wouldn't the synaptopathy drugs in trials be potentially eligible to receive breakthrough status too?

It absolutely is specific. I haven't had an audiogram done in years, I guess that if I want to be included in this study I would need an audiogram that is done 6 months before enrolling... so I suppose I am ineligible until August at the earliest. And also, I want the injection in both ears...
