    I'm a Failure

@Mitch95 - I've been there. That's the place where we are certain that our loved ones would be better off without us. I've had times when I just sat in the shower stall in the bathroom, rocking, feeling like nothing mattered anymore, all the while knowing that I had spiraled down to that bad...

    Loud.

Thanks, @billie48 -- I have been very stressed this week, and the T has been obnoxiously, upsettingly loud. I'm seeing an audiologist tomorrow, so I'm hopeful. And tonight, I'm going to tae kwon do class, so I'll kick lots of things, which will be helpful. :)

Loud. Loud. Loud. The Universe is too damn loud right now. That is all.

4 Health Issues — Doctors Cannot Help Me

@Zora -- a good friend of mine has firbo. And while it's not easy, she lives a full life. Hell, she's a first degree black belt in tae kwon do and regularly kicks my ass in sparring. :)

4 Health Issues — Doctors Cannot Help Me

I'm 45 - older than 20, but too young for arthritis (in my opinion, anyway). Have you looked into the possibility of fibromyalgia?

    Gluten-Free and Feeling Better

Interesting. I definitely have had more rice-based products since going GF. The T is lousy (and loud) in my left ear, though lately it's also in my right, even though I rarely have wheat products.

    Gluten-Free and Feeling Better

I learned through trial and error that dairy clogs me up. My nose gets terribly stuffed.

    Gluten-Free and Feeling Better

I've been mostly gluten free (defined as "gluten free, but roughly every 3 - 6 months I'll have a "gluten friendly" meal or so") for about four years. There are times when I'm also strict "paleo" (basically, eating plants and animals -- i.e., no grain, no dairy, no added sugar -- and having...

4 Health Issues — Doctors Cannot Help Me

Hi, @Karen -- Thanks so much for sharing! I need to get back to doing the things that my functional medicine practitioner suggested regarding the adrenal fatigue -- including stopping the caffeine and alcohol. (Just typing that makes me tired. ;) ) I'll be sure to check out the book you...

4 Health Issues — Doctors Cannot Help Me

I don't have chronic fatigue, although last year I was diagnosed with borderline adrenal fatigue. I do, however, have foot pain. It's arthritis and bone spurs at the joint of my big left toe, which can make even walking uncomfortable sometimes, and taekwondo painful. Not all the time, which is...

    Hi from Sao Paulo, Brazil

Hi, @Luciane - I first got tinnitus in 2012 too! We're practically sisters! :) Yeah, it's been frustrating with doctors for me, too, so far. But I have hope that as long as I keep trying to find answers, one day I'll get ones that work for me. I hope you will too.

Hi, @Marlino - I'm glad you found a masking technique that helps. I hope it continues to help.

    Hi There, All

Hi, @Peter D. When it comes to relaxation and help with sleep, I second Valerian, especially as a tea in the evening. Also melatonin.

    "Do You Hear That?"

Thanks, @Rosie_Rose - I'm okay. Stressed, and really tired. Hopeful that the audiologist will be able to help. I greatly appreciate the strength and positive energy. :) ("Radio Moscow" - great name!) I really appreciate the reply. :)

Musical Tinnitus Is Making Me Nuts! Good Morning All, I'm New Here.

Thanks, @MelissaJane - it's wonderful to read about how running is meditative for you. I've done C25K before, when I trained to successfully take part in my first 5K race. I'll try to think about running as private time for me to recenter myself. Maybe it can help me get Zen about my tinnitus. :)

Post a Picture of Your Pet!

Loving all the photos! This is Nyxie, my four-year-old cat. She's convinced there's a land beneath the refrigerator. (Either that, or the refrigerator is trying to eat Nyxie.)

    Some Advice

Thanks for sharing that, Chris. I'm not new to tinnitus, but new to this forum. Reading about how others cope and live their lives is so very helpful and inspiring.

Musical Tinnitus Is Making Me Nuts! Good Morning All, I'm New Here.

Tons of empathy! And I admire your sense of humor. (Maybe musical tinnitus is where "earworm" comes from?) I wish I liked running. I do taekwondo, and running (or in my case, plodding) would help my stamina for sparring. But ugh, running. What about running do you love so much? Maybe I could...

    "Do You Hear That?"

My name is Jackie, and I've had tinnitus since August 2012. I remember lying in bed and saying to my husband, "Do you hear that?" (Spoiler: He didn't.) This is my first post, but I've been reading a bunch of the posts here over the past week or so. Just knowing there's an active community of...
