I’m so desperate. Who can relate in waiting the bad days out till you are allowed to sleep to have a better day? My pattern is pretty much on/off so I’m only living on 50%. The bad days I’m in bed 99%. Is anyone else like this?

Is it possible that Mirtazapine quietens the tinnitus a bit? And if yes would this be constant while on the drug? Today it seemed a little quieter for me but my ears went a little haywire. That’s why I asked about serotonin.

I can in so many ways relate (nerve pain, ear pressure, clicking, highly sensitive nervous system, not feeling like normal tinnitus/hyperacusis). As you know, my symptoms came from tapering Paxil and reinstating it. How are you now? Did some symptoms subside?

If the SSRI-induced worsening really is reversible, I’d be tapering right now. But for me so much hope is gone because I have already taken it for 4 months and I cannot believe coming off will be of any help after all this. What do you think?

I’m sure that it caused it but am 4 months in. And in addition to this I still have symptoms from the first withdrawing in 08/2022. I don’t feel like my brain is in homeostasis so another withdrawal could be dangerous. What do you think?

I’m currently at a psych ward. They want to help me taper it down but it takes time. It’s one of the most difficult to come off SSRIs (Paxil). So just stopping it doesn’t work. I already tried to taper but couldn’t stand the worsening. I feel trapped.

Germany. I had taken Paxil for 5 years. I have tapered it til Summer 2022 and had the worst withdrawal. That’s why I reintroduced it. All the problems started from the reintroducing. My tinnitus is now soooooo high and unpleasant. My nervous system is still in shock from the tapering.

Actually I am in a Psych Ward right now since one week because I was so uncertain about the medication. But they don’t seem to understand the difficulties with the Paxil. They wanted to change it on the spot (10 mg to 0 mg) which is not a good idea with Paxil, to be honest.

No, because Paxil is so difficult to switch from to another one. I couldn’t take it right now. I’m not an that of a high dosage (10 mg) but my ears went nuts.

The problem was the reintroduction of Paxil. My tinnitus changed and is now very difficult to handle. I have days when I can only lie in bed and wait till it’s over. And I’m still on the Paxil. And also on Xanax every 3-4 days.

I’m interested in Tianeptine. Currently I’m on Paxil which I plan to taper off of. My doctor suggested Tianeptine. Has anyone experienced any benefits or worsening of tinnitus with this drug?

My milestone would be same tinnitus loudness but threshold shift for sounds that cover the tinnitus. So that a movie, people talking etc. would cover it. Before my SSRI induced worsening this was always the case.
