Why Would Pushing on Side of Head Quiet My Pulsatile Tinnitus??

@Greg Sacramento Sorry to bug you again. You seem to have done a ton of research on the subject. From what I understand from the doc, this high-pitched buzzing which I hear 24/7 that's synchronous with my heartbeat is a combination of somatic T being produced due to hearing loss in the high...

Why Would Pushing on Side of Head Quiet My Pulsatile Tinnitus??

@Greg Sacramento Thanks. Some of that seems familiar. I have a stiff neck quite often, sometimes so bad I can’t look straight up without significant pain. Also lots of shoulder pain, and I’m hypothyroid to boot!

Why Would Pushing on Side of Head Quiet My Pulsatile Tinnitus??

@Greg Sacramento Well, this is going to be the weirdest thing I’ve ever typed, but yes, I’d like to read a bit more about the hum and thumping if you don’t mind.

Why Would Pushing on Side of Head Quiet My Pulsatile Tinnitus??

@Greg Sacramento Ahh, that sort of makes sense. So my pushing is somehow diminishing the blood flow through the jugular bulb, perhaps, helping to quite the pulsing nature of the tinnitus (if not the tinnitus itself)?

Why Would Pushing on Side of Head Quiet My Pulsatile Tinnitus??

Hi all, been a couple of years since I posted. I'll post my story again below so you can get a bit of a background. Long story short, however, I've been "living with" pulsatile tinnitus now since August of 2017. Started one day abruptly with high-pitched buzzing, sometimes quieter than other...

Pulsatile Tinnitus for a Month and Scared

Sharri, I'm in the same boat as you, basically (except I had high frequency hearing loss in both ears, worse in the left side where I hear my PT most). It's a pretty scary ride, especially after you read all these threads and they all mention these horrible things it could end up being!

Did I Get a Good Enough First Exam?

I was very happy to hear my ENT say he knew about PT, and that my symptoms didn't warrant any further tests. That my high-pitched PT (a hum, a buzz?), he thought it was a combination of my high frequency hearing loss producing the high pitched whine, and then interacting with my pulse due to my...

Okay, Am I Doomed or What?

Only about 10 tumors are newly diagnosed each year per million persons in the United States, corresponding to between 2,000 and 3,000 new cases each year. I'm counting on the odds!:cautious:

Okay, Am I Doomed or What?

I saw the audiologist for a hearing test yesterday morning and I do have hearing loss in the high frequency range (probably due to either age or some previous exposure to loud sounds, plus I'm from a very poor, rural area and I had a ton of untreated ear infections as a kid). So then I saw the...

    Howdy from Pulsatile Land

Hi Karen, I have certainly read your story as I've gone through the tinnitus talk pulsatile forum...you do a great job of making people feel welcome. Mine came on fairly suddenly I think, about 1.5 months ago. I saw the audiologist for a hearing test yesterday morning and I do have hearing...

Okay, Am I Doomed or What?

DirM, ahhhh, so maybe I'm not crazy after all! I tested it this morning as I worked out by slowing down while my heartrate was up in the 140 range and it did indeed slow with my pace on the elliptical. So are you taking treatment for the TMJ and that has helped your T to come down? My jaws...

    Howdy from Pulsatile Land

Sorry, I might have broken etiquette by going right to the pulsatile forum. I'll post some of what I posted in there as a way of an introduction. Short story long, back at the end of August I either started hearing or just started noticing a very high-itched (hissing?? ringing??) that was...

Okay, Am I Doomed or What?

I'm working out right now on the elliptical and noticed ttthat my pulsing adopts the rhythm of my legs pumping and not my heart. Does anybody else with PT that exercises notice anything like that?

Okay, Am I Doomed or What?

Thanks Mike! Would you say that in most cases, PT is usually due to something not dangerous and not life threatening? I keep the "good" info like that bookmarked but somehow I can't stop from finding the other stuff. I'm just dreading this long road of tests and waiting for results. I've been...

Okay, Am I Doomed or What?

Kazue, Okay, calming down!! ;) I have sort of gotten the notion that a lot of ENTs don't understand the different between T and PT. My spinal tumor was way down my back, so I have no idea what impact it has had...plus it was 6 years ago. Just sort of weird the PT popped up suddenly one day...

Okay, Am I Doomed or What?

Sorry, flair for the dramatic. Short story long, back at the end of August I either started hearing or just started noticing a very high-itched (hissing?? ringing??) that was perfectly timed to my pulse in mainly my left ear. Being a psychologist-treated health anxious person, I immediately...
