DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

That's good to hear. So now I'm wondering: How far from ear do you put your light? How long is each treatment per ear? How often? Any idea what prompted your T initially?

DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

The power density of my RLM light is 1500mw/cm2 at 0cm and will still be covering a fair few cm2 at 0cm. Hence its total optical power must be quite a bit more than 6w (6w being a tenth of its consumptìon).

DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

Re. the divide by 10 rule: Don't know about this generally but my RLM device will be producing quite a bit more than 6w given its quoted power density at 0cm.

DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

I don't know of a 25w light being used on ears. But if there is one, what exactly is being refered to? (My RedLightMan light could be described as a 60w light because that is its consumption...)

DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

From memory, the device Amon Kaiser uses delivers about 3w total. So in terms of power density that's a lot less than your light pressed against your ear. But if you're achieving great results that's the bottom line for you. MY experience was otherwise when I put the light against my ear.

DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

I understand the need for sufficient power to get through the bone. But having said that, the biphasic nature of LLLT IS established in studies. At what power the good effects of the light on ears start to lesson through too much power is anyone's guess, really. All we can do is pay attention...

DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

@Tom Cnyc Pressed right against your ear equals a heck of a power density. Please be careful. Generally, LLLT requires just enough light to prompt a hormetic response. Too much could even do damage. But great that your T is now minimal :)

DIY Low-Level Laser Therapy for Tinnitus on a Budget — LLLT Under 100,-

@Jgp0926 You can't go wrong with one of the RedLightMan 830nm lights. I've got this one: https://redlightman.com/product/infrared-830-device/ But possibly 'the mini' may be more convenient? Don't go overboard with dose. Recently, when in a rather emotional state, I used my Infrared 830 device...

Do I Risk Making My Reactive Tinnitus Permanent?

I have a question but will have to provide some context first. Please bear with me! My T could be termed 'reactive'. I'm a professional musician (keyboard player) in the pop world and I find that for some days following a gig I will experience T (and H). Eventually the T will start to diminish...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

Here's a light that may be of interest. I've not used it but it's got to be worth a punt at such a cheap price! Cheap as chips and powerful too! It requires a separate power supply. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...iveASIN=B00M3NHCC6&linkCode=as2&tag=refm08-21 The light has a sensor that...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

I've just taken a hearing test using this site. https://hearingtest.online/ See images below. Top image is left ear. Viewing these test results in isolation may not give an accurate indication of my hearing as the frequency response of my in-ear monitors is unknown etc. But I do have a very...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

I've been using this device on and off for a short while: https://redlightman.com/product/infrared-830-device/ It's high powered and quite convenient for shining into ears - I lay on the floor and put the device on a couple of books so that it shines directly into my ear, touching or almost...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

Given what some have said about Kaiser's laser being 25w, and the fact that his clinic is in Europe, I reckon his laser is actually the following, which is possibly slightly different from the US counterpart: http://www.asalaser.com/lasertherapy/products/m6

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

And I see in this page you can enter your zip code and find the nearest practitioner who has an MLS laser (ie. same laser as Amon Kaiser): http://www.celasers.com/medical They may not have experience with ears of course... but perhaps may be persuaded to try?!

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

To answer my own question, looking at the pics in Amon Kaiser's site I can see he uses the following laser: http://www.celasers.com/medical/products/mls-therapy-lasers/m6 As does his colleague in the US.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

Yes indeed. For some reason, the link in my last post was going to the wrong product. I've corrected it now. The product I have in mind is the Infrared light device. (which is 830mn and 760mn) https://redlightman.com/product/infrared-light-device/

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

Thank you so much @lymebite and @Bobby for your replies. :) But (sorry!) I must confess I'm still a little unclear as to whether the wattage figures given by laser manufacturers refer to energy consumption or the amount of power produced. Clarification on that point specifically would be much...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

Reading this thread I realize there are some basic concepts about which I'm embarrassingly unclear: Essentially, what the power figures of different lasers, lights etc. really indicate! I believe I understand an expression of light power density such as 200mW/cm². But if a laser's power is...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

I'm wondering if anyone in here knows whether there are any significant differences between the laser treatment protocols offered by the different practitioners (ie. Amon Kaiser, Dr Wilden, Anne Harila etc.) I've read a few success stories here and there that mention Dr Wilden, but there...

Thanks DT! No sign of any reply box I can type in - in that conversation, but no worries! Let us know how you get on with the light! There do seem to be some people dotted around who have had obvious benefit from laser therapy for ears... it seems that it does indeed work for some...

Many thanks for the 'conversation' lymebright. I'm probably being dense but I could find no way to reply within that conversation, hence my reply via this route! (Maybe it's because I'm a new member of this site?) I already have that paper! I'm assuming you're DT - you sent it to me via the H...

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) for Tinnitus — Experiences (Dr. Wilden, etc.)

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of, or thoughts about, the following product: https://redlightman.com/product/red-infrared-combo-mini/ The same site supplies other lights of different wavelengths, so perhaps one (or more) of their other products might be more suitable for treating...
