5 Months Later, Life Still Sucks

I I definitely tried to get through it without medication... It was unbarable. I wanted to die every day I woke up. I don't know why my brain would overreact about a sound. It's not causing me any pain. I tell myself if I knew everyone had it, it would be easier to deal with. It feels like a...

5 Months Later, Life Still Sucks

I'm tired of fighting the depression that comes with the ringing. I was put on Abilify and Celexa, and now I can barely focus on what I'm doing. I program for a living so now I can barely hold a conceptual thought. I can't even enjoy video games or TV anymore. Imagine coming home after work and...

    What I've Learned So Far

I got sudden onset tinnitus 2 1/2 months ago. My hearing doctor said that I listened to only moderately loud music and that I have great hearing, so he's not sure what the cause is. But that's not the point. I handled it terribly at first, wanting to actually die. Just thinking about those times...

    Tinnitus That Overlays Other Sounds?

This is great news. I hope this happens for me. It's weird and depressing and annoying, I'm on the second month with T though but I have been stressing out way too much to the point where I had to be put on Abilify and Celexa for depression. I'll wait it out and report back and in the meantime...

    Tinnitus That Overlays Other Sounds?

My tinnitus seems to play a certain tone over certain sounds or frequencies. It's very faint and glassy. It perfectly matches whatever the "trigger noise" volume is, for instance there is a fan in my house and I can hear my T fluttering along with the sound of the fan fluttering. Anyone else...

    Can I Have Pepto Bismol?

After stopping Prilosec for heartburn since I'm scared that it could induce or caused my tinnitus, and all the stress associated with tinnitus, I've had terrible diahrrhea (I know, gross, sorry) for about 3 days. It sucks that so many things could potentially increase or cause ringing in the...

Tinnitus Caused by Walking and Driving — Suicidal Thoughts

I too wonder sometimes what the point is to life and living with these things. I have milder tinnitus but also sound sensitivity and already had anxiety and now panic attacks, adrenaline rushed and my hope seems gone. Even thought T is loud for you, you have to find ways to cope and destress. If...

Did your T ever go away, or get better/easier to live with? I have the "wine glass sound" that goes around other sounds, too, as well as a very high-pitched whine, and some sound sensitivity to louder sounds that seems to come and go.

Tilting My Head Helps My Tinnitus

I wonder if your tinnitus might have some sort of connection to posture, or muscle tension. When I lie down, mine "feels" worse - not sure if it's because I'm relaxing with nothing else to occupy my mind, or the position of my head. I'm not sure if gravity affects the hairs of the cochlea, would...

Am I Lucky? Do I Have Mild or Moderate Tinnitus?

Did it eventually go away? Mine wasn't hearing loss induced, at least not immediately after. I think it might have been my high blood pressure, or a med, combined with lots of headphone usage. It seems to go down after a long period of preoccupying myself and being in a room with the same sound(s).

    Any Advice for Me?

Thank you, I appreciate that. :) I am trying my best to stay calm. My ability to notice the ringing gradually goes down throughout the day and resets in the morning; I'm a lot better toward the end of the day. I hope that eventually it won't bother me anymore. I get lightheaded a lot and I...

    Any Advice for Me?

I know this sounds like the standard "me and my problems" post but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this and what the future might be like. I'll try to keep it short. My ears have always randomly rung, usually more often after listening to loud music with my headphones, but the ringing...

I Definitely Need Some Help. If Anyone Could Please Help.

I played video games and programmed. I did wear headphones a lot. Listened to loud music. I'm barely getting sleep. I can't get out of this hopeless rut. I can't find any reason to think it will get better. My friends and family are sick of hearing about my problems and quite frankly I am too...

I Definitely Need Some Help. If Anyone Could Please Help.

Hi everyone. I hope none of you are going through a rough time right now. I am wondering if there is something I should try or do, I'm confused. My tinnitus started with a sudden high pitched ringing and a noticable feeling in my left ear, maybe pressure, accompanied with a feeling of temporary...
