    Habituation Question

Thanks Carlos. You do the same. On the subject of habituation, does road noise and traveling in a car get easier over time? We just drove from DC to Orlando and back....and the time in the car was okay but not great.

    Habituation Question

Excellent question Carlos. I often wonder the same. I have had T for 18-months, I'm 55, and try not to dwell on it. I know we are all faced with challenges in life and this is a big one for me. I also appreciate the different responses to the question. Greg

Has anything worked other than time?

Great points by MattK, Beth and Stephen Nagler. I've been dealing with T over the past 14 months. It's been extremely difficult and I need to just let it go. I'm 55 and have never been depressed or anxious until T started. I try to stay "normal" but is there a certain point where you seek...

Questions About Passing of Time and Hearing Loss & Tinnitus

I think time is all we have. I've had mine for a year and it's maybe improved a little. The audiologist said that I had high frequency loss in my right ear but said that it wasn't bad enough for hearing aids. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer. In the mirror, we all look normal. Greg

    Scared and New

Go to the motivational video "Why Do We Fall" on YouTube. Life is short......and we need to put T in it's place.

    Scared and New

Claire and Carlos- You are in my prayers. It's been a year for me and T takes you through a deep valley in life but from those I've talked to and from what I've read.....we'll come out of the valley and hopefully say "Hey, no big deal!" I pray that happens. If you google celebs/famous people...

    Tinnitus and Depression

I'm "all of the above" and could not have said it better. I pray that over time it continues to lose it's grip. There has to be better days ahead. Greg

How Old Were You When Your Tinnitus Started?

54 for me. Dealing with gout over 20 years so it was more than likely med related. Never heard of T before it happened.

Tinnitus Since 1974, Can You Beat That?

I just developed T a year ago. I'm 55 and grew up in Cleveland, and enjoyed many years of concerts at the old Cleveland stadium. On T, I think it was caused by many (20) years of dealing with gout issues. I was on meds when the T started. I also have high frequency hearing loss in my right...

    Scared and New

Thanks Mark. I appreciate the response. I just retired after a 30 year career with the govt. With T, I thought I was losing my mind. I went to my GP a year ago and explained to him my condition.....and he replied, I have T. My GP said "you just deal with it" and he's younger than me. My...

    Scared and New

What type of SG's do you use/recommend. I've had T for a year now and still find it extremely challenging. I'm 55 and it started after multiple gout flair-ups. My thoughts have been everything mentioned above. My pastor has T along with others I know and they all seem likes it's no big deal...

New to Tinnitus. Making My Life Hell. How Do You Deal With It?

Michigan Man- Thanks for the positive response. I'm 55 and have had T for the past year and still struggling. It's non-stop. I stay active but may need to increase the physical activity. It's definitely put in a tailspin. Greg
