TMJ is for sure an exclusion criteria? That makes no sense since @kelpiemsp has it and has had great success with this treatment.

The good thing about Lenire/Neuromod is at least we've actually seen data and research backing up their claims whereas other companies just slap some bullshit number on their website with no evidence.

I agree, I think the definition of somatic is flimsy right now. People with hearing damage definitely seem to have somatic elements very often, and yet TMJ caused tinnitus is often referred to as somatic in its own type of realm. It’s all very confusing to me honestly.

Ahh yes you’re right, it was somatic tinnitus that didn’t respond well. Sadly, that’s me. The good news is Susan Shore’s research is supposed to be better for people with somatic tinnitus if I remember correctly.

So, sorry a potentially bad question but I am confused, are synapse repair and hair cell regeneration connected? As in, say Frequencies' trials go well and helps people with tinnitus, will their hair cell regeneration only work if the synapses haven't died?

So, is there a way for Frequency or other companies to know how many hair cells one has/should have? Tinnitus is caused by many things, so is there a way to make sure people aren't going to sign up for this treatment thinking ear damage is the cause when realistically it could be something else?

I dont have any experience with Hyperacusis, but my best suggestion is to go see an audiologist for the tinnitus and mention the H. Most audiologists offer free tinnitus consultations, and are usually much more empathetic than ENT's. However, it still may not be a bad idea to see an ENT as well...

When I clench my jaw my tinnitus gets louder. Does that mean it's not somatic?
