Tinnitus After Earwax Removal — Any Hope for Me?

He used some kind of instrument I didn't even see. It was extremely fast. I didn't even know he was doing it. He looked in my ears, and the next thing I knew he was showing me the earwax he had removed and telling me that now I would be able to hear better. Thank you for responding to me. I...

Tinnitus After Earwax Removal — Any Hope for Me?

Has anyone ever improved after an earwax removal procedure caused tinnitus? Mine was initially caused by an ototoxic medication, but after 2 and a half years I was becoming habituated. I ignorantly allowed my ENT doctor to remove earwax two weeks ago, and I have been in agony ever since...

Tinnitus Week 2018 / Day 5: What Makes Your Tinnitus Worse?

Tomato sauce, diet soda, salt, treadmill. I don't eat sugar or white flour so I couldn't comment on those. I haven't figured out what exercise I can safely do besides gentle walking in the sun.

What should an audiologist be able to do for me? I went to one, and she sold me a pair of $4000 hearing aids. They have masking capability, but I find the masking to be even more annoying than the tinnitus alone. Other than that she hasn't helped me as far as I can tell.

I Hate TRT (Tinnitus Retraining Therapy)

It's unfortunate, but you are right. There is nothing that can be done as far as I can tell. I have $4,000 hearing aids. I don't eat salt, nitrates, sugar, aspartame, tomatoes, nuts. Is there anything else I shouldn't eat? I'm afraid to exercise because that also ramps it up. I'm lucky (?)...

    Lisinopril Induced Tinnitus

Hi Laura K, In October, I developed tinnitus almost instantly when the doctor raised my Wellbutrin 150mg to 300mg. I stopped it immediately as well, and the doctor said he never heard of that reaction. I have found in my research that it is quite a well known side effect of bupropion or...

    My Miracle

So glad to read your success story. My T started on October 8th. My response followed yours almost exactly. First, I felt like my life was over. Then, I wished it were over. I prayed and begged God to remove the noise and restore the quiet. Then I prayed for God to give me the ability to...

Thank you, Lumen. I keep doing that; but after a while, I relapse into fear. I'm interested in any ideas that help habituation.

    Hello — Please Help!

Hello Yuri, I have read that we can become habituated to tinnitus and that it can become much less bothersome. I hope yours goes away, and I will pray that it does. I am new at this so I don't have much to offer but hope and prayer. Tomorrow I see an audiologist about a masking device. Hope...

Fresh Off a Visit to the ER :(

Dear swg, Prayers are coming your way for all you are going through. Breast cancer is a terrible ordeal, but many people recover from this. I've been reading that tinnitus isn't always forever either. Let's hope the saying, "this too shall pass," applies to what you are going through. In...

Losing It... What Can I Do?

I am in the early phase of Tinnitus experiencing a lot of hopelessness, anxiety and fear. It started 3 weeks ago like someone turned on a switch. Over the past year I developed cervical dystonia and tremors, and I thought that was the worst thing in the world until the Tinnitus started. I am...
