I accidentally set my fire alarm of while I was making dinner (don't know what that says about my cooking skills, hah.) Unfortunately the incident has spiked my tinnitus. I Can Sit without Masking — So Happy

Since my tinnitus spiked in August 2017 I haven't been able to do anything without masking my tinnitus. It would get on my nerves, trigger me and make me angry or sad. But my spike has gradually faded and I have gotten used to the fact that I can now hear my tinnitus more than I could before...

No Longer Convinced My Tinnitus Is Entirely Noise-Induced

So. I have always just assumed that my tinnitus is noise induced due to the fact that I have been stupid enough to go to a lot of hard rock concerts without earplugs. I Don't Believe 20% of People Have Tinnitus

The stats I have read says between 15 - 20% but that only 3% of those are bothered by their T in such a way that it damages their quality of life. So I suppose the reason why the stats seems to high is that it is only a small amount of People with T who is actually bothered or harmed by it :)

Tinnitus Always Constant Throughout My Life, Now It's Unbelievably Loud

Same thing happened to me last year. I never really figured out what caused it but my guess is that it was tense neck - and jaw muscles from being stressed out. Poll: Was Your Tinnitus Onset Sudden or Gradual?

My T is a "fleeting T" that just never went away. I still haven't figured out why it decided to stay at that particular day, as I have had experiences of fleeting T my entire life. But I suppose it's some kind of gradual noise damage that caught up with me in the end.

    Personality Traits of Tinnitus Sufferers

The problem with correlation is that it doesn't necessarily mean causation. And in this case I would say that it is very likely that developing T can make you more neurotic. And thus there seems to be a correlation between T and neuroticism. But there is no way to know if being high on the...
