Existential Crisis — Thoughts of Death

Hi all. Long story short. I'm 37 years old. Despite tinnitus, I was doing quite well two weeks ago, but things became darker when my father-in-law died at 71. Now I think about death all the time. I even stopped dreaming about a "cure" for my tinnitus, because "I will die anyways". "Why is...

My Tinnitus Is Almost Gone After 3 Years: It's Now a Faint Ringing — No Longer Hyperacusis Either

This is very important. People can ruin improvements when they get more confidence. I'm living proof. The damage is cumulative and each time your tinnitus needs less and less sound to reborn, and it gets worse each time.

Tinnitus Seems to Be Somehow Linked to a Crucial Bodily Function, Studies Hint

Same thing happens to me. Seems like there is a link between movement and sound perception. Just from Google: Stop and listen: Study shows how movement affects hearing

In-Cabin Noise Level of Wide-Body Aircraft — Airbus A380 the Quietest

Which option is better for damaged ears? 1) A 2 hour flight (normal airplane, not the quietest ever built). 2) Driving 15 hours on a road trip in a new affordable car. 7 or 8 hours per day at 70 mph.

In-Cabin Noise Level of Wide-Body Aircraft — Airbus A380 the Quietest

I only took a plane once in my life before tinnitus (it was very, very mild). So I have almost 0 experience flying. But days ago a friend told me "I think the landing damaged my ears, I have muffled hearing since then". He was chewing gum, so maybe that trick doesn't work for everyone.

Electrical Stimulation of the Cochlea for Treatment of Chronic Disabling Tinnitus

I think those theories are BS. Chronic tinnitus usually fluctuates and we have moderate and severe days, so it can change.

Electrical Stimulation of the Cochlea for Treatment of Chronic Disabling Tinnitus

Maybe severe tinnitus is not as profitable a market as we think. Most people have it in a mild form and there is a lack of interest.

Otonomy OTO-313 — Treatment of Tinnitus

Can OTO-313 affect the glutamate levels in the whole brain or does it just work in the cochlea? I know it's locally injected but I talk about systemic absorption.

Studies Confirm Tinnitus Improves Over Time

It improves. I agree. It's not always habituation, it can fade a lot over time (years). But loud sounds are everywhere, and one day you ruin your improvement going to a party, a concert or working in a loud environment, and finally it gets worse.

Testosterone and Tinnitus — Myelin Sheath / Nerves

Maybe there is a correlation. I developed the Post Finasteride Syndrome years ago. Fortunately the sexual sides are mild now (took nearly 2 years to get better) but tinnitus is very loud. Mine is from noise exposure anyway...

Frequency Therapeutics — Hearing Loss Regeneration

I remember being in my car with my partner talking about FX-322. She was like "that's just an experiment". She was right. Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19) and Tinnitus

Finally the test is done and she doesn't have COVID-19. My worsening could be just noise (no concerts, no pubs, nothing too loud though...) or just the mysteries of tinnitus. I had some pain in my ears yesterday when I went to bed. Seems like a "reactive" trebly component is back after months...

Maybe it's just a coincidence but my wife is going to get a COVID-19 test today after a loss of smell and headaches. I had some dry cough the last days. Hi! I have had mild / moderate floaters since twenties. But they got super worse some weeks ago. Based on my experience they will not "fade". I was coping decently with my severe tinnitus (still bothered but not suicidal) but this is a new challenge. I just want to be normal. I know the best...

Hi! my old sounds were not "electric". I had a baseline tinnitus and new high frequency sounds. After two years the higher ringings dissapeared suddenly. I don´t know why. Yes. It's a long time. Probably we will have FX-322 available sooner. But it's good to have two alternatives. If FX-322 does not work.. you have the pill. I hope it works for chronic cases too. I'm trying to be optimistic.

I asked the same months ago and she said "it might work but we don't know". I think that she just doesn't want to kill our hope. I'm a layman and I don't understand why they cannot test the device on 3 or 4 people who don't have somatic tinnitus and tell us the result (as an anecdote).

Hi. Thanks for the information. For some reason speakers and masking sounds usually incresease my tinnitus. The real sea sound have a different effect. Days ago I ride an old gym bicycle. It makes a "biii bii" sound and my session lasted nearly 1 hour. After that my tinnitus was lower and...

Hi Buzz. Residual Inhibition is common for many tinnitus sufferers. Try to mask your ringing during many seconds / few minutes. 35 Years Old — I'm Starting to Feel Like an Old Man

Nice story. But at my age I can only think about my own goals, not to be really good doing something. I was reading about age and sports / MA and they say something like "It's never too late. Just be careful because injuries can take longer to heal. Choose styles that don't require much...

35 Years Old — I'm Starting to Feel Like an Old Man

Well... that's the point. I know that loud intrusive tinnitus is probably a big influence here, and maybe some hormonal imbalance, but I am starting to think that I am getting old. How Come Most People Can Be Exposed to Loud Noise and NOT Get Tinnitus?
