Hearing Aids Provide Immense Relief to Tinnitus

I got my tinnitus 3 years ago after the first week of taking Lexapro and then Celexa. Of course, I can't prove either caused my tinnitus, but the timing is suspicious. My doctor had recommended I try them to deal with severe anxiety I was having. Anyway the high pitched screeching in my ears...

Tinnitus Going Away! B12 Was Deficient

I think a lot of people are low on B12. I was still in the normal range, but some people have issues when on the lower end of normal. If I was below 200, I would be worried I had some other issue going on, but my doc isn't too worried. Also, I eat plenty of meat, but drink alcohol too everyday...

Tinnitus Going Away! B12 Was Deficient

How far are you into yours? Don't lose hope. Eventually you should get used to it and it becomes nothing. I've got friends that had it screaming in their heads, and don't even notice it anymore. They too, have to search for it to find it.

Tinnitus Going Away! B12 Was Deficient

Oh my gosh! Yes, thankfully I'm still considered in the "normal" range. Just the low end of it. The diseases you mentioned above are really for people under 200 pg/ml. But yes, glad I checked my levels, seriously think b12 supplements are helping.

Tinnitus Going Away! B12 Was Deficient

Hi, I've had it for 8 months now, and started seeing improvements around 5 months. Although the improvements have been SOOOOO slow so hard to pinpoint when it happened. Tinnitus Going Away! B12 Was Deficient

Thanks, I'm not trying to brag or anything. And to be clear, I do still have T. I posted this so other people get their vitamin deficiency's checked out. I didn't know B12 deficiency could cause T! Maybe it could cure others if they had T caused by a vitamin deficiency too.

Have you seen a audiologist? They got these hearing aids now that are amazing! They completely mask the T when it acts up. And have built in TRT therapy. I think they really helped me initially. Check out the new Widex Evoke hearing aids. Could really boost your quality of life.

Tinnitus Going Away! B12 Was Deficient

So, I am having major, and I mean major reductions in my severe tinnitus. It's gone from screaming in my head, to a faint high pitched sound I can only really hear if I don't have my hearing aids in and other sounds bring it out. When I do hear it, it's soooo much lower in volume. I recently...

Hello, Recently Got Tinnitus from SSRI

I got mine from Celexa. I actually think what happens is that we took the SSRI meds, and the serotonin on our brains was being changed. So you would advise a hearing loss patient with T, to not wear hearing aids? That's where the confusion started for me. On one hand, I'm told to wear my in-ear hearing aids, but then also told not to use headphones. In ear hearing aids amplify sounds too.

I wonder if these are the older hearing aids, because mine certainly don't have a speaker where your #4 is. To Michael's point, they are just hollow tubes. I understand what he is saying now. Most hearing aids project the sound further away from your ear drum.
