Music-Induced Tinnitus: Ear Fullness/Crackling in Ears/Loud High-Pitched Tone When Yawning

Hi everyone, It's been a while since I posted on here, but I'm feeling ever more concerned about my music induced tinnitus, and the doctors don't seem to be much help! I've had tinnitus induced by loud music since 2017, and I have to say it has worsened over the years, from around a 1-2 out of...

Ear Fullness/Inability to Pop/Crackling When Swallowing

Have you ever experienced a second acoustic trauma if yours was brought on by noise? I think I damaged mine further a second time so now it is quite a loud ringing, I do think I'm habituating and it really doesn't bother me too much... but I'd love for it to go back down to a hiss again at some...

Ear Fullness/Inability to Pop/Crackling When Swallowing

Yes this sounds exactly the same as mine! If I push my jaw forward at all then it goes really loud. I think I definitely do have ETD, sometimes I get a really full feeling in my head too as if there's too much pressure. Do you take or do anything to ease your ETD?

Ear Fullness/Inability to Pop/Crackling When Swallowing

Hi :) I've had noise induced tinnitus for over a year now, unfortunately it worsened after a second noise exposure but slowly habituating and keeping positive :) I just wondered if anyone else had any of the following symptoms along with their tinnitus, such as a fullness feeling in the ears...

Noise-Induced Tinnitus & Head Piece at Work?

Ok great thank you! I don’t know if I’m just over thinking it but it does definitely feel like it’s changed pitch since using the head pieces, I’ve been balancing them over my ears so they’re not fully covered and had it on a low volume whilst taking breaks... going to give it a few more days...

Noise-Induced Tinnitus & Head Piece at Work?

hi guys, I’ve just started a new temp job and I have to use a headpiece at work to speak to customers on calls. I avoid using earphones and headphones and I’m worried this earpiece will aggravate my tinnitus. Does anyone have any experience or been affected with this? Is there different...

    Flying & Tinnitus

@Bobby B I’ve just googled them, they’re definitely not very subtle but fashion goes out the window in the name of ear protection! Do you just wear them for takeoff and landing?

    Flying & Tinnitus

Hi Bobby, It’s noise induced T, so I guess that earplugs are probably a good idea?

    Flying & Tinnitus

Hi everybody :) Just wanted some information as I have some flights coming up, one short haul and one long haul in March. Has anyone used the earplane ear plugs and are these enough? Do I need to keep them in for the full flight or just take off and landing? Any tips appreciated :)

    Changing Sounds

Oh thank you so much for such a thoughtful response! You’ve really helped make my evening feel a little less scary and overwhelming tonight. I also seem to be gripped by the Olympics, I’ve found myself watching it when I’ve been unable to sleep. Also just taken myself for a little evening walk...

    Changing Sounds

I can’t really listen to a sound app as headphones are what have increased my T :( and I guess I can’t listen to it out loud on my phone. I feel like my ears are tuning in to the computers frequencies, it’s very strange. I’m glad that you’ve been able to adjust to your sounds. I’m really hoping...

    Changing Sounds

Thanks both. Everything feels like it’s getting so much louder for me, I’ve been very emotional about it all today and so wondering if this stress is feeding it. I also find myself constantly checking for the noise, this is something I’ll have to change. I’m working in an office with lots of...

    Changing Sounds

My tinnitus initially started in my right ear and has slowly made its way to my left. My left ear initially was just a low whooshing sound, a bit like having a fly stuck in your ear. Just this second it has changed to a high pitch screech. These changes in sound seem to be happening more...

6 Months In and New Spike After Headphone Use

I’m sorry to hear that headphones gave you tinnitus. May I ask if you still have tinnitus or has it subsided over time? It really shocks me how little is known about tinnitus outside of the community who have to deal with it. Really feel that the risks of noise exposure should be talked about...

6 Months In and New Spike After Headphone Use

Thanks Michael. I’m really hoping it will do. I’d read in other forums that use of headphones was ok but I guess this changes from person to person. I have so many friends in the music industry who have tinnitus and still produce music/attend events. I think I’ve been super unlucky here...

6 Months In and New Spike After Headphone Use

Hi everyone! I’ve had tinnitus since summer 2017 due to being exposed to loud music. What started as a ringing in my right ear slowly made its way across to my left. Most recently it became a low hiss which I barely noticed and it strangely became comforting... weird I know! I recently used...

Recently Had Ringing in Ears After Loud Noise

Hi everyone... I’ve had tinnitus since this summer through loud music exposure. Recently I listened to headphones at a very low level and what was a strangely comforting hiss has turned into a much louder bleeping noise in both ears which I’m finding it very difficult to adapt to. This has been...
